I think it might have started as a dream but writers changed their minds after making the pilot. 1. (Hospital) All analog clocks stopped at exact time to the second not possible since you cant get all clocks to be that syncrinized, and all the batteries dying at the exact same time is impossible. 2. (Hospital) when Rick approached the chained door the walkers tried to get out to him when he turned around they stopped, Walkers in the show don't lose interest and stop trying to get you just because you turned your back to them. 3. (Hospital) How was Rick the only living person there, no one wheeled him to a vehicle, especially Shane, and the walkers didnt go in his room and kill him 4. (The Tank) There was no obvious hole under the tank until he decided to kill himself. He was laying on his back looking up for a good minute before he put the gun to his head. While inside the tank he was thinking of death again till the voice came over the radio. When The show turned into a huge hit the writers abandoned the dream story and went with what they have now.

The last one is unfortunately impossible. Carl died in the mid season premiere of season eight. He couldn’t be telling the story as an old Man. Yet that would be amazing if he was able to get that chance. This was made before the mid season finale when he was bit so people were still thinking that. But I think all our theories of old man Carl went to hell after the writers made a huge mistake the show will never recover from.
