The chords progression sound to me like F#min (II) then resolving to Amaj7 (I) So the V you talk in the video is E dominant ? I'm probably being an idiot, but I don't understand on lick# in the F ext pentatonic position you say we are adding a 9th? Seems like a major 7th to me.

na you close. that exact scale in its relative major (a major) that note would be major 7th. but in F#m its the 9

the first one yes. the second….technically, Fmaj7sus6/9 - but basically fmaj7 and works over top it perfectly

@@NastySoulGuitarLessons Isn't the second one D G C E? It has the 5th and the 7th from an F maj7, but it doesn't have a root or a third, and has the 6 and 9 as you said. Writing F maj7 on that seems... creative. There's a big difference between "this is chord X" and "these notes sound nice with chord X."
