My top 5 list would go as follows 1. SJC Custom Drums 2. DW 3. Pearl 4. Ludwig 5. Tama (You guys can say what you want about my choice but it’s my opinion I just love SJC man.)
@gianluigibianchi7883 жыл бұрын
They are all great brands, I have a Tama and have had both DW and Pearl, but the Rogers 60's or 70's is number 1 for sound and versatility

@kevinaguilar44873 жыл бұрын

i always stick to pearl masterworks kuz you can literally order any size of drums you can even have like a 100 toms, I only drum on 9piece kits with 6 toms
@rokker1013 жыл бұрын
This is a matter of choice, playing styles, finance and personal preference as far as I am concerned being a drummer for over 45 years ... you can buy an average kit and put great heads on them and tune them correctly and they will sound just as good as a kit costing thousands ... manufacturers of musical instruments know how to manipulate people into buying their products and labelling them as the best .. go with your instincts ... these list videos are all open to debate and for me there is no 'best' make of drums.

I've never owned a new kit! Early 1970's is the newest kits i ever played. One being a 1973 Gretsch and a 1971 set of Premiers, that had the 3 ply Mahogany shells and the thick Beechwood glue rings. Other than that, 4 sets of 1958 to 1966 Gretsch. Two sets of Rogers one being 1964 and a 1967 set that was pre CBS. One set of 1969 Slingerlands. Also owned 3 sets of the cheap Japanese knock offs from the mid/late 1960's. Surprisingly with the the right heads, those cheap sets could sound really good! Favorite snare i ever owned was a 13" x 8" all brass shell, that had a 5 ply piece of brich inside the shell....Made by Premier.....extremely hard to find now. I was stupid to sell it. They also made a 14" x 9" version, which was the loudest snare i ever played. 2nd favorite snare was a 1939 Slingerland solid shell Radio King. At first it was too muddy, then when i sealed the inside of the shell just below the glur rings, with a clear varnish, it brought the life out of that drum. Miss that one too a lot!

Sjc doesn't make drums. They buy shells from Keller and RCI, and then just paint them over. They are a drum painting company.

Noble & Cooley are the best drums ever. The new Horizon series are amazing. Back in the 80's 90's every endorsed topdrummer had a noble & cooley drumset for studio recordings.

I have put my Mapex Saturn Pro directly up against some these brands. I got my kit directly from Greg Bissonett after he played them at a small demonstration in Jamestown, NC. My kit sounds better than the DW and Yamaha and just as good as the top of the line Tama. What a lot of people don’t realize because no one talks about it is that there is some small ingenuity features in the hardware that tops everyone else. I can’t believe no one’s mentions the spring floor Tom legs, the transformer cymbal stands and the multiple facets of Tom mounts.
