My top 5 with no repeat franchises: 5. Ghetsis (Pokemon Black and White) The only bad guy in the pokemon series who was willing to do anything to achieve his goal even kill a 10 year old. 4. Gygas (Earthbound) Creepy boss and it's the big bad that made the world into the bizarrely weird world it was with all the enemies. 3. You (Undertale) The genocide route is nothing to scoff at. Being the bad guy has never felt worse. At least going down this path you know you will end up having a bad time. 2. Star Dream (Kirby Planet Robobot) there were a lot and I mean a lot of kirby choices and if I could I probably would have most of them on this list but if I had to pick one it is star dream. An unrelentless computer set on mechanizing the universe including the people who reconstructed it is kind of crazy. 1. Dahlia Hawthorne (Ace Attorney) Though I would say JFA was really close to take this spot dahlia is just way worse in every way. I'm surprised she wasn't on the list and was used as the top 10 title cards.

Super paper mario spoilers: I disagree about dimentio being less evil than the shroobs, dimentio literally planned everything from the beginning and manipulated everything for his own goal, and his goal was to destroy all worlds leaving nothing left, even after he was killed he still used his power to destroy all worlds just for fun

I know Dahlia Hawthorne is the number transition but I low-key wanted to see her as an entry. Just look at all the people she's killed, attempted to kill and manipulated for her own greed and selfishness. She even persuaded her dad to abandon her twin sister at a temple just because she wanted things to herself.

As of currently (2023) Dahlia Hawthorne is #2 as most evil AA villain, imo. #1 Would be Queen Ga'Ran (Spirit of Justice) who screwed up her entire country just because she wanted to rule. She didn't earn her right to rule via royal bloodline decree, so she attempted to murder her sister (the real queen), got her brother in-law accused of it, took her niece hostage when she was a baby, gaslit her still alive sister into being in the shadows and her nephew to follow her orders, put attorneys out of business by putting their lives at risk as much as their clients, responsable for causing Apollo to lose his father and nearly lose his mom (she was found later to be alive and well), and manipulated her entire country to believe she's a benevolent ruler. She's a monster.

Masayoshi Shido from Persona 5. He used his own illegitimate son to inflict either mental shutdowns or psychotic breakdowns on anyone who opposes him, had at least some involvement in the creation of every other palace in the game (including the new palace in the Royal), used his influence over the police to get Joker arrested under false pretenses, and would gladly let Japan go under just to flaunt his own ego.

The last time I saw a similar list I regret not commenting this: I like the idea of a list not categorizing villains, but people who are straight-up evil. Because some of the best villains are so recognizable and well characterized specifically because they aren't 100% evil and may have humanizing or empathetic traits, but people who are evil for the sake of being evil do deserve to be classified separately just because there are leagues of difference between someone with a tragic backstory, someone who is doing the right thing the wrong way or the hero of their own story VS. someone who's an irredeemable monster with no excuse for their actions.

I have a few characters of my own who I would call evil. Some probably more controversial than other but idk: - Agent 47. Look, I get that he usually kills bad people but that doesn’t necessarily make him a good person. I wouldn’t call him pure evil, but with him lacking any kind of sympathy for anyone (not even for his handler Diana) and his only purpose in life being to kill, yeah he’s kind of evil. I guess it isn’t his fault he’s the way he is, and there are a few times he shown sympathy (like how in Absolution he really regretted killing Diana and how when he was younger he took care of a pet Rabbit) but still. There’s literally a point in Hitman Blood Money where Diana tells him that she won’t be around for much longer and will likely be dead and 47 just responds “I’m sorry to hear that. Has my money been transferred?”. Absolute savage. I’ll do some more later by editing my comment I’m just tired rn

I have a few contenders for Evil Video Game Characters. Arkham from Devil May Cry 3. Manipulates his daughter, Dante and Vergil to meet and fight each other in the Temen-ni-gru to unlock the gateway to Hell so he can acquire the powers of the Demon Knight Sparda. In addition, he murdered his own wife in a satanic ritual in order to acquire demonic powers, and apparently killed others too. Not yo mention, when Arkham was at the mercy of his daughter, he tried to justify his actions by saying that Sparda did the same thing to become a legend; sacrificing a mortal priestess to seal the gates to hell, even though Sparda did it to save countless of people in the long run, whereas Arkham did it for the power. Ghetsis from Pokémon. Manipulates his adopted son to convince others to release their Pokémon in order to make it easier for him for world domination. And when that failed, about 2-3 years later, Ghetsis performs acts of terrorism, by weaponizing Kyurem and using its power to fuel an ice cannon.

Actually, and as weird as it sounds, I'd say Junko is (while _extremely_ evil), in fact _not_ as evil as Dahlia, by virtue of Junko being a very weirdly relatable character for me... You see, for me at least, Junko represents the way wallowing in your misery is so addictive, and how bitter it can make you, to the point where not only you can't enjoy anything at all and there is nothing sacred or wholesome in the world, but your utter despair spreads like a germ to the people closest to you, which only leaves you with the option of isolating yourself to shield those people, and in the process becoming even more miserable... You seem to misunderstand Junko's character a bit, I think. Killing her sister did not bring her joy; None of the unfathomably horrid things she did could do that, because, in Junko's state, she very simply cannot _feel_ joy. What she does, she does as a rotten substitute to that; Very simply put, she cultivated her sadistic tendencies to extreme lengths, so that if she cannot feel joy, she can at least, well, get off on the misery of everyone around her and even more so, her own. It's a mental state I am very aware of, cause I had been stuck in it for years in the first phase of overcoming clinical depression, for you see, at that point you're desperate to just feel something, _anything_ again, regardless if it's good emotion or bad, and the first thing you see in front of you, the low-hanging fruit, is indeed this: To wallow in your filth and misery not in sadness (sadness is actually a pretty big step _up_ from that, cause it requires you to at least imagine that you could have been happy so that you can be sad you aren't. I remember the first time I managed to cry after rising back from rock bottom, it was really sad, yes, but in a liberating, bittersweet way), but in psychosis, essentially becoming a nihilist, whose only motivation to keep going is the short-lived thrill of pain and anguish, no matter if it's others', or your own. Another character in this vein is Monsoon from MGR, who is generally not seen as pure evil because the audience ultimately understands that really, Raiden could have easily gone down the same path, but Monsoon just wasn't as fortunate as him.

Dahlia, on the other hand, is... evil manifest, inscrutably and incomprehensibly spiteful to everything and everyone... Couple that with her Clockwork-Orange-style sheer, terrifying viciousness, and you have, in my opinion, the most utterly evil... thing, in every game I have ever played. Not necessarily the best villain, even in the Ace Attorney trilogy for me she is tied with Chief Damon Gant from the bonus case "Rise from the Ashes" (the best case in the trilogy, and all murder mystery videogames in general, in my opinion). Gant, is nowhere near as evil as Dahlia, because, despite the absolutely horrendous things he does, by the end at least you can tell that he's fallen from a noble goal, at least you understand that he _once_ had good intentions. And he's not brutally vicious like Dahlia, no, his brand of evil is less Blood Red, and more Pitch Black: He is cold, relentless, and cruel, like a gigantic shadow looming over everyone in the case. A similar character is Firelord Ozai from ATLA, but Gant is even more well fleshed out, I think. In both cases, the deepest, and most unsettling evidence of their cruelty, is not in murder or any kind of direct violence, but rather the depth of emotional abuse, gaslighting, and straight-up brain-washing they've inflicted on those that most trusted them (Lana Skye in AA, Azula in AtLA), so much that these are only a shell of their former selves. So, for me, Dahlia and Gant are tied for 1st place villains in AA, _slightly_ above Manfred von Karma and Matt Engarde, who are tied for 2nd place. I could go into detail about those 2 as well, but that's probably enough for now.

Maybe it's personal bias since I also Love him as a video game character in general, although to me the most evil individual in a video game has always been Albert Wesker as he was willing to betray his own team & unleashed the virus technology he created with Birkin on the whole world. Whether by accident or on purpose he still doomed nearly ever person still alive on the planet eventually. I feel that is pretty evil, & motive be damned to me that makes him number one in my book. I feel that's worse than manipulating people into murder as Junko made herself a pretty obvious suspect to me

Lionel Starkweather is the most evil video game character ever conceived. He is the main antagonist of Rockstar's Manhunt. Starkweather also seems to get a sexual kick out killing as he can be heard moaning at times when Earl Cash performs a kill. He even has Cash's family kidnapped and then murdered. 😈

You missed the one that shown throughout you video Dahlia Hawthrone. She is the definition of a sociopath she committed theft when she was around like 10 or something as well as faked her death to get away with it. She almost was defeated till the one guy was so infatuated with her that he committed suicide. Then she blinded the prosecter Diego who becomes Godot before pinning that on Phoenix when he was young then when she was about to be revealed she murdered a person (the main case) and was murdered but that is not all. T take revenge she possessed one of the Feys and commits another murder to get revenge, I do not remeber the exact details of the final case as it is a mess but the point being she is messed up and I am shocked you never included her, i a series full of crazy murderers she kills because she can and then will kill agin jsut to get away with killing.

I can make a mention to the ancestor of darkest dungeon? Like you are a terrible once you proceed to be more coold-minded, like sacrifing people, fuck them for life only for make them good for combat and drag "heroes" to a hopeless place... but even with that you still a better person. In the start he seem as some fool with money who awake a lovecraftian horror, but when you start defeating bosses you start hearing somethings like how he kill necromancer apprendices when he learn from them what he need, torture and try to kill a man who know what he was doing to silance him and some other awfull things who make him at least, worse than the guy from katana zero for me(i didn't remember his name).

some characters I think would be good on a list like this: bernkastel (umineko) she is already a pretty evil character forcing Ange to work for her and crushing her when she has no use for her and she is even worse in chiru being arguably the main antagonist of it but im not gonna give spoilers Oberon Vortigern (fate/grand order) yes he is from a game based on an anime and stuff but holy shit so theres another character I thought about being here called Kazuradrop but I decided what oberon did was worse and he is a living spoiler so just dont keep reading if u want spoilers: Oberon plotted out a huge amount of lostbelt 6 to lead to Cernunnos dying so he could use his "insect of the abyss" form to destroy faerie britain for the reason that faeries and humans existence disgust him if he wasn't defeated he would have also have consumed proper human history and maybe Lbs 6.5 and 7 his only other excuses were that he hated humans because of there relationship with STORIES and because the only person he cares about can only exist in them
