Very classy for putting the family at number 1, Tom. Shoutout to @Daniel Manicad! Just like him, before Covid, I only had Pictionary. Now, I have about 70 great games in my shelf. At the end of 2019, when my daughter began struggling with mental issues and self-harm, I decided that I needed to take a sabbatical, which coincides with the lockdown globally. Then I bought Sagrada just to fill time with the family, and before I know it, we finished Pandemic Legacy season 1 together. Dice Tower, along with several other channels, were a big part of the journey. Through it all, we learned to communicate at a deeper level. We held each other up, and began to heal whatever rifts we had beforehand. Now, my daughter is in a very much better shape and starting high school, while embarking on Gloomhaven JOTL campaign with me. It's very uplifting to see that this hobby of ours do great things for our relationships. Outro: My daughter is now starting to explore some possible pathways for her future, and she mentioned that she'd like to be a board game designer!

I flew from the UK to attend Dice Tower West and enjoy my second visit to Las Vegas. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been able to have such a wonderful holiday abroad, and having so many great gaming experiences, so close to when the world underwent a major shift that has denied me both of these things since. Many, many thanks to the Dice Tower and all my fellow attendees for making it possible!

My #1 experience was playing my favourite game Scythe for the first time with my 9 year old, so I definitely share your feelings for your #1... it was an unforgettable experience, I remember thinking "I can rest in peace now". I loved seeing his fascination for the mechanics and the components (he loved those mechs of course!), and I loved being able to share my passion with him. Just wonderful

I have a two year old boy and we are hopefully having a second soon. I hope to be able to play with all of my kids someday. Probably what I am looking forward to the most in this hobby. Your #1 got me a little emotional Tom! Thanks for sharing the positivity.

There were a lot of great things that happened this year, and the Dice Tower really help me through the tough year we had. One of my favorite experiences, while not necessarily board game related , was the Dice Tower Daily Chats. I absolutely loved them

Great list and couldn't agree more about how Werewolf suprised me as well, had no idea gaming over zoom could be so exciting and I am so thankful for all my new friends I have met through the WW games! Thank you Tom for making that happend and for being so inviting and caring for the group! I really look forward to the day where I can meet Tom and the WW players and give you all a big hug! (And maybe eat some of you in the nights in a IRL game as well... ;)

My best gaming experience ... we were well into Kingdom Death, going back to the colony after a hard fought battle where all our characters managed to survive. I was playing with a character I created on the first day of play, which was now mature and powerful. We passed this little cave, and I thought 'what the heck.' I'm going in to explore. Drew a card 'Your Dead!' WTF? I'm dead? Yes.

Similar experience to yours, Tom. I played so many games with my two daughters (7 & 10) - Catan, Splendor, Exploding Kittens, Ticket to Ride London, TTR Amsterdam, TTR UK, Pandemic. We had so much fun together, so much laughter.

I don't really attend conventions at all so the spectacular this year have been amazing. I'm sure that if (when) cons come back then there won't be room for them, but its been really fun to see the "whole" convention as it happens.

Werewolf on Zoom is amazing. I don't play, but I joined the group to find more games to watch because I had watched all the ones the DT put out. I have gotten to know Josef from his channel ( Boardgames with Niramas) as he posts many games as well. Tom finally understands what its like for others who watch him, like we know him, now he gets to know others in Werewolf. I have favorite werewolf players I like to watch, Ayahoo is my favorite, and like to watch Daniel and Josef, and a few others.

I hope and think my top gaming experience of 2020is yet to come. Tomorrow or the day after we will start playing Pandemic Legacy Zero as a family. My wife and I played the two prequels and loved it. I hope we can convey the funny excitement to my sons.

Hey Tom! I don’t always agree with you (I like Munchkin), but! I do respect your knowledge and integrity. I trust that your opinions are well founded and thoughtful. Most of all I appreciate your sincerity , and your love of your friends and family! Keep up the good work and God bless.

Two pandemic legacy sessions a week isn't rushing? We have been playing season 1 for over a year now. Corona didn't help of course.

I totally agree about TTS. I hate playing on it. I don't even like to watch content creators' playthroughs on it. It lacks the ease of tracking videogames have and the tactile joy of rolling and shuffling that board-games have. It's the worst of both worlds. But......it does give access to so many games that I couldn't afford to own. Sigh.
