It's so hard to make a top 10 list being around since gen 1. I have a lot of memories from each game, even though gen 5 is my favorite. But I will give it a try. 10. Venusaur 9. Lucario 8. Zekrom 7. Aggron 6. Latios 5. Furfrou (Shiny Dapper) 4. The Don Nidoking 3. Swampert, the team player 2. Volcarona 1. Ferrothorn my gen 5 mvp.

Shofu and I are probably the same age. But I have been watching these videos for a looong time. Swampert is just one of those pokemon that can be the glue to any team. The first time I heard it called team player, it just stuck with me.

Gyarados - favorite OG card growing up and my favorite Pokémon to use back in comp X & Y days when it’s mega came out Toxicroak - loved it on a comp team and LOVE it’s shiny variant. Such an under utilized mon back in the day and is such a great design Toxtricity (low key) - when S&S came out, I was bustin buckets over how sick this mon looked Lugia - Pokémon 2000, I was just a little kid and watching Lugia take on all 3 legendary birds alone, while fighting the enemy, dropping fatty Aeroblasts was the greatest Pokémon moment of my childhood Rayquaza - how can you not love Rayquaza? Putting holes in Deoxys and thuggin in the ozone Mega Blaziken - one of my favorite designs in all of Pokémon. Blaziboi was my favorite Gen 3 starter (Sceptile is also absolutely dope) and when the mega was released I was bussssin Tyranitar - how anybody played gold/silver/crystal and didn’t go crazy over finding a Larvitar in MT. Silver is beyond me Zangoose - such a SICK design and it’s rivalry with one of my most hated Pokémon really gives me good vibes Mimikyu - love it’s story of being jealous of Pikachu because everyone loves Pikachu and is scared of Mimikyu, so it wears a Pikachu costume. I would love it with all my mf heart son. Obstagoon - the shiny variant is my favorite shiny Pokémon of all time. Beating out Toxicroak and Origin Giritina. Amazing color combos and such a dope Pokémon lmao

These are my top ten, they all have a special place in my heart: 1. Lopunny, my first shiny that I caught as a child when I was finally able to afford a DS and a pokemon game. I raised her from a little buneary and took her all the way to 7 gen when I used poke bank to bring her through each gen with me. 2. Milotic, unlike other people, I love pokemon contest (the one from ORAS especially, I don't like the gen 4 redone one, anyway) I brought my ugly feebas and had it perform in contest. I raised it's beauty and then it evolved into my number 1 water type Milotic, I put so much time into it. 3. Florges, I love it's design, and I love support pokemon. It's my mascot lol 4. Gloom, I just love gloom lol, loved it as a child from the show. 5. Wobbuffett, I like to think " What Would Wobbuffett Do" when I have to think hard on a decision lol. Also, Team Rocket 6. Chimecho, Love it both in game and show, but I really loved it in the show with James. I did cry when it was sick and went to a better place 7. Goomy, my favorite dragon and come on it's Goomy lol 8. Cinccino, great design, great cry, and it was my duty when I was younger to catch one in Black as a child. Also, I always had one on my team when I played competitive 9. Lugia, favorite legendary, Glae of Darkness lol, and Pokemon the second movie are the reasons why I love this mon 10. Lumineon, beautiful cry, amazing design. It may have (it does) an awful moveset but it has special place in my heart and I still love it. And it's fun to use in normal pokemon play through

My top 10 are a combination of competitive viability, in game memories, and aesthetics/personality 10. Gliscor, awesome design, competitively one of the most consistent mons ever made, always fun to put on teams 9. Meganium, it’s freaking adorable, it looks like it’s just always happy to be there. 8. Gengar, so much personality, half the reason I like it is from the anime, the rest is it’s tricky and diverse movepool 7. Mewtwo, the OG, the original super broken Pokemon, cool design, cool moves, and he got his own movie back before every stupid legend got one. 6. Yveltal, my actual favorite legendary, a badass design with an awesome typing 5. Garchomp, in my mind I picture Garchomp as the Pokémon equivalent of the Doom Slayer from the new Doom games 4. Mamoswine, big elephant (Yes I know it’s a mammoth) go CRUSH. The most blunt instrument ever created, just send it out and whack things with it, screw everything else. 3: Togekiss, it’s one of the cutest Pokémon ever made, but it’s also an unkillable demon that can paraflinch 80% of the game’s other Pokémon while surviving a whole lotta moves it has no business surviving. 2: Azumarill, it’s again so damn cute, and the novelty of it having (via huge power) a functional 150 base attack stat to bash things with is beatiful. I swear half the reason I’ve nuzlocked Pokémon Y so many time was because of Azumarill 1. Snorlax, all other Pokémon are lesser, all other fictional beings are lesser, Snorlax is a fucking champion, it’s perfection personified.

My top 10: 1) Tapu Fini…man I hate status 2) gengar - fav Mon for so long, too bad it lost levitate 3) dragapult - only reason it’s below gengar is nostalgia 4) swampert - first Pokémon I ever used 5) Yvetal - I love dark types, and man does this one do them justice 6) rayquaza - was my fav legendary but recently over taken 7) regigigas - I played so much VGC using this + weezing 8) blaziken - my second Pokémon ever and my first that I mega evolved (tho I do hate megas, his is pretty cool) 9) regieleki - I love this thing, it my be by favorite by the next 2 years 10) murcrow - I love that they gave this prankster

Here are my contributions to the Poke-Noah's Ark 10: Florges (In any game I use her, she's always the star of the show. 154 base Sp. Def, Wish, decently strong Moonblast, even Calm Mind stuff. I also like the variations of the flower, with the white flower being my favorite.) 9: Latios (Best Legendary. He's a cool combo of a jet and a dragon, and it just works really well. He's a very strong battler, he was useful in my Omega Ruby playthrough. We also have to mention soaring on his back in Omega Ruby, which is maybe one of the best features ever implemented in a Pokemon game.) 8: Ampharos (It and its prevos are very cute. I love its fabulous hair and Dragon-typing upon Mega Evolution. I also appreciate a bit of the Welsh origins of the sheep dragon, and also the reference to Do Androids Dream... [the book Blade Runner is based on]) 7: Porygon-Z (It's literally a living glitch, what's not to love? It's got so much personality, it's maybe the funniest Pokemon in the game. it crushes absolutely everything if you set it up right, the fact that it's hard to get makes it feel extra special.) 6: Gengar (Just a really cool ghostie. I love all of the ghostly things it can do, like dipping into the shadows, and how much of a funny guy it is. Mega Gengar is also amazing, but G-Max Gengar is in my least favorites, honestly.) 5: Corviknight (An absolute beast of a bird. It's a raven, which are amazing animals, but this one is covered in armor and is over 7 feet tall. Maybe my favorite Pokemon from a pure battling standpoint, too? Unlike Skarmory, you don't even need to play it defensively, an offensive set with Bulk Up puts in a lot of work.) 4: Scizor (Bug and Steel are among my favorite types, this one puts down so much pressure with Technician Bullet Punch. I also love how its pincers are supposed to look like smaller heads for the sake of intimidation, yet Scizor prefers to beat you over the head with them. Mega Scizor is pretty alright.) 3: Volcarona (There's no feeling quite like QD Volcarona burning foes to a crisp. That, and it's just a generally beautiful Pokemon, and it even has a little sun design going with its wings. I'd have to assume Volcarona would be a really nice Pokemon to hug if you managed to avoid the scales.) 2: Sceptile (The best starter. It's always so cool in any sort of action shot it's in, lizards are incredible animals, and the perfect blending of reptile with all of the plant elements like the tree-tail and the seeds on its back isn't matched by any other Grass-type animal. Mega Sceptile is also the best Mega Pokemon they created. They knew not to mess with it too much, and I love its tail rocket.) 1: Dragalge (It just exudes this level of silent confidence that speaks straight to my heart. I love Poison-types, I love Dragon-types, I love Adaptability and crushing absolutely everything with Draco Meteor and Sludge Wave, I love how metal it is and how it lives in ships it sunk with its own poison. I once got a super fast shiny Skrelp in Omega Ruby, and shiny Dragalge looks amazing, so that's another point added on.) Some of the lads I couldn't fit into my top 10 are Spheal and family, Primarina, Escavalier, Crobat, Manectric, Flygon, Aegislash, Zapdos, Kommo-o, Carracosta, Crawdaunt, Breloom, Runerigus, Stoutland, Kecleon, and Torkoal, but there are honestly so many more Pokemon I'd rate at least a 7.5/10

You got me into competitive Smogon years ago, like gen 5 and even though right now i don't play competitive Pokemon anymore, I still watch some of your videos. A full top ten would take a while for me. A recent favorite is Tapu Lele for me. Strong competitively and cool design. Plus it was my first shiny Pokémon recently through the max lair. No resets or anything :)

My order changes almost every time I think about it but: 10. Crawdaunt: goat design, fun to break things in half w adaptability knock off and crabhammer 9. Samurott: great design, fave water starter 8. Tsareena: color scheme is perfection and super fun in competitive 7. Giratina Origin form: clean design, great color scheme, cool ass legend 6. Venusaur: super fun in sun, great color scheme, I can’t have a gen 1 team without it 5. Yanmega: dragonfly Pokémon is enough to make it one of my faves, also fun in comp 4. Flygon: great design, jirachi movie sealed it as a goat for me 3. Dragalge: something about a giant poisonous leafy sea dragon hits the right spot, also adaptability wall breaker & is super fun 2. Decidueye: best starter imo, thought design was too good to be true when it leaked back before sun and moon came out. Sick concepts behind design as well 1. Kingdra: perfect design, seeing it on Clair’s team as a kid solidified it as a goat

Top 10? You got it! (Here comes the essay lol) #10. Metagross (normal or Mega). A very cool Psychic/Steel type with the distinction of being a physical Psychic, something not too common. It’s a beast in battle, mega or not. #9 Aggron (Mega). An amazing design that makes Aggron look even more like a beast! Using this thing is hella fun, eats physical hits like it’s nothing. It’s so satisfying seeing a Zacian Crowned in National Dex AG try to Close Combat it only to get Earthquaked in the dust! #8. Primarina. A very pretty Pokémon that has some great power to boot. That’s the perfect combo for a Pokémon: great design and strong. #7. Lopunny (normal or Mega). I liked Lopunny when it was just the normal bunny that was fast, and that’s about it. Once it’s mega came out, I began to love this thing. Fast and hard hitting with Scrappy while looking good? Sign me up! Always a fun one to use. #6. Ninetales (normal). Everyone loves their Charizards and Arcanines and Moltres, but the Gen 1 Fire Type that I love is Ninetales. Vulpix is such a cute baby Pokémon, and Ninetales is super beautiful. Drought helped to give me a reason to use it, as I made some great teams with it and some of my other favorite Pokémon, and surprisingly, it worked really well! #5. Braixen. The anime and Pokken definitely helped me to like this Pokémon. I mained it in Pokken, and seeing Braixen do its thing was fun because of the performer personality it was given from the anime. I do like Delphox as well (despite the majority saying no), but Braixen just does more for me. Cute design with loads of personality to boot. #4. Cinderace. When you see a Pokémon and really like it BEFORE you know it is really good, you know you have a favorite. A Fire rabbit that plays soccer and ignites pebbles into fireballs?! THAT IS SO COOL! And using it in game, man it’s too good, we all know that. Need I say more? #3. Goodra. I love this line. I really love this line. Seeing the evolution from the weak little Goomy in the anime was great. The moment where Ash had to release Goodra, man, that was rough. As for my own Goodras, anytime I use one, it never fails me. The bulk is insane, and the move pool is MASSIVE! You won’t know what to expect from Goodra. I really wanna use one again soon. The perfect combo of cool, cute, and power, that’s Goodra! #2. Hydreigon. What a fierce Pokémon. Dragon/Dark is very scary (especially back when Fairies didn’t exist), and much like Goodra, using one has never let me down. Strong special attacker with a pretty wide movepool alongside a great design. Not to mention, seeing one on Ghetsis’s team just screams power to me. #1. Serperior (surprised?). One of the first Pokémon I used, and what a great design this is. A monarch grass snake. It’s simple, but great. Back when I first used one, it was funny to try and sweep with Calm Mind sets. When contrary was released, maaaaan, using one was simple, but so much fun. Contrary leaf storm alongside Dragon Pulse, Giga Drain, and Hidden Power with some very high speed is too good. Love this thing!

Nearly all of my favorites have like no competitive play, but I still love them. 10. Lapras 9. Chandelure 8. Teddiursa 7. Mantine 6. Poliwrath (Red's Poliwrath in the Pokemon Adventures manga was always so cool which is why I love this mon) 5. Heracross 4. Cacturne 3. Donphan (that scene in the first movie of Bulbasaur fighting Donphan has always made me love this tire elephant) 2. Flygon (this mon not getting a Mega is something I'll never forgive Pokemon for) 1. Aggron (love me a giant metal dinosaur)

Nice list! My top 10 are 10. Tapu Lele since its really fun to build around especially in draft and probably the most usefull terrain. In a semi Ubers league I paired it with mons like pheromosa, blacephalon, slowking and mandibuzz, lots of fast snowballing mons and slow pivot with mandi being a key ghost and dark resist and ended up winning the league 9. Nihilego cause I really like most of the ubs, and its speed boosting meteor beam set is just amazing but especially in draft it also provides a lot more versitility like suicide dual hazard sash lead with head smash or clear smog weakness policy to beat suicune no matter how many cms it went for 8. Did I mention i like UBs? Blaceph is just so spammable with a choice set, its a fun guy and the mind blown animation is badass and hilarious. Love this clown! 7. Garchomp a classic, great rocker, tank, breaker or set up sweeper as well as amazing design, do I have to say more? 6. Terrakion used this mon in quiet a few drafts, I won one of them and made runner up in another one and its damage output with dual stabs us amazing, its the second place of my all time kill leader board as well, depending on the set its an amazing breaker, sweeper or revenge killer/cleaner 5. Vikavolt cool design, even if its speed stat doesn't fit to its pokedex entry this mon is amazing! Especially if people expect it just to set webs, which its pretty good at, they are sleeping of its huge damage output and bulk with access to roost and iron defense 4. Mamoswine how can you not love this mon? Super spammable dual stab, priority and looking humble and badass at the same time! 3. Mega Gyarados my favorite mega and my all time kill leader in draft! Also won a league with it and made runner up in another one as well as being the number 1 kill leader in one. 155 attack with umbreons bulk, usable speed and access to dragon dance, making use of the premega ability of choice as well as the premega typing for mindgames and making your opponent look dumb if hes prepared for you to mega. And once you click the mega button you're able to eq rotoms. Mixed sets are also underrated and it has good support options in stuff like taunt and twave 2. That was really hard, and is really vlose and interchangable with number 1. Even though my first draft mascot was magcargo and my logo at first being a 2 minutes paint sketch, I soon made a logo for the Munich Munchlaxs (see pfp) I put in hours of work into this, not being experienced with editing images. For the gingerbread heart with the teamname I also went to multiple websites where you can design them yourself. The logo was finally finished for the price of getting online commercials for beer glasses and gingerbread hearts for several months but I loved the result and it became my main mascot. Its also my most drafted mon by now and within my top 10 all time kill leaders! 1. This one goes back to my childhood, pokemon silver and the gen 2 anime. It was my second pokemon game but the colors gave it so much more life. I started the game and picked totodile, thinking he is the cutest/coolest looking of the 3, but my real love to it came from the anime that made me love this little fella even more, it was always happy, sassy and playfull and I loved it, I also saw my totodile evolve and didn't like croconaw remotely closely than totodile, so I reset the game and kept the unevolved totodile in my party throughout entire johto and kanto and even managed to beat red with it on the team!

My top 10: 1. Porygon2. It's the perfect mix of quirky and cute. Also fun to use in competitive. 2. Quagsire. Love the big blue blob. 3. Furret. One of the cutest Pokemon to watch move around in the games. 4. Porygon-Z. I love how distinct it is from P-2 both competitively and design wise. 5. Dragonite. The mix of strong and cute is really nice, it seems very friendly. 6. Oricorio. I really hope it gets to be in another game soon. 7. Espeon. I've loved this one for a really long time. 8. Breloom. I didn't think much of him until recently but he's really grown on me, no pun intended. 9. Ribombee. It's so small and cute, and has a great shiny. 10. Polteageist. My favorite Gen 8 Pokemon. Honorable mentions to Blaziken, Torkoal, Altaria, Greninja, Eiscue, Latias, and Politoed. It's so hard to leave some mons out.

Garbodor has gotta be one of my favourite Pokémon, and only slightly ironically. It’s one of the few Pokémon that are based off inanimate items without being just that, having bunny ears to resemble a literal dust bunny. Plus, the shiny is _sooo good._ I do like this so much because of personal experience, I trolled my mates using double Toxic Spikes then swept with Hex Gengar, very niche but very funny.

here's my Top 10 1. Krookodile (Crimson) I beat Y, Alpha Sapphire and Ultra moon with him. The design and anime solidified his nature to me. he fits my play style so well! 2. Goodra (Glootie) similar to krookodile, goodra has been to every generation I can take him through Pokemon home. 3. Incineroar (Koa) my favourite starter I never thought a starter would top sceptile for top, but man Koa in my ultra moon play through was so clutch!! 4. Sceptile (Sly) I love him in the anime similarly to krookodile so I used it in a play through and was so happy. before gen 7 sceptile was my favourite starter he's a close second. 5. Dragapult (Stitch) I love the design, typing and overall its a very good Pokemon 6. Arcanine (Blitz) He is the ultimate good boy!!! plus being fire type makes it awesome cause its my favourite type. 7. Reuniclus (Dr. Bloom) in white 2 he was so clutch. I love the unique design and how underrated it is in battle 8. Talonflame (Spitfire) pokemon Y is my all-time favourite game, this fire flying bird has excellent design and I just love my boy. 9. Aegislash (Excalibur) best design and themed Pokemon from gen 6 imo. love the typing and its just so good!! 10. Greninja (Neptune) the second I saw froakie I knew he'd be an excellent partner in my journey. my all time favourite water type Pokemon! he was just so clutch for me through my journey.

I love bug types and gen 5. 10 Lilligant/haxorus/chandelure/Aggron I really can't chose between these 4 9 Serperior- fav gen 5 starter, awesome hidden ability 8 kabutops- this is the most badass fossil pokemon change my mind 7 Centiscorch love the typing, wish it was better competitivly fav design from gen 8 6 Leavanny-Just like with Centiscorch, this mon has an amazing design but it lacks move pool and the stats to be good, given it has such a terrible typing competitive wise 5-Scolipede this mon is so cool. 4- Reshiram- immensely beautiful, awesome typing, I also like the concept behind it 3 grovyle - sceptile is kinda dissapointing imo 2 Galvantula-I wish this mon was stronger, such a cool design 1 Volcarona-amazing mon, both competitivly and design wise. Idk if I’ll ever be able to choose a top 10 for Pokémon, much less an absolute favorite. There’s just way too many mons I love, I think I could say which mons are like top 50, 30, 20 etc level for me. My top mons. 10. Celeby - the cutest mon in my opinion. I love its connection to dialga and time traveling. I want one even if i dont get to time travel, just as a pet or familiar. 9. Latios - >>>>>> Latias. As joey said, dropping a draco with this boi is the best. My favorite psychic type, was my favorite dragon type till giratina showed up and basically murked Cyrus 8. Snorlax - i dont care what you say, its fun to use, and i wanna sleep on its belly. I vibe with its entire everything. 7. Giratina - the design speaks for itself bro. The concept speaks for itself. Both forms are awesome and the first time i saw this mon i was stunned. 6. Mamoswine - how can anyone not love this dondada? Its so fun to use, hits like a fray train, tanks, got priority, and its really cool. 5. Staraptor - bro.... I want one irl. People hyping braviary like bruh Staraptor is that but better design and competitively. 4. Torterra - my favorite starter. Charmander was my 1st starter back in fire red, but its not one of my favs. Sceptile was my favorite starter cause that was me in mystery dungeon. Was fun being a treeko partnered with grovile. But anyway torterror is the most badass thing on 4 legs and nobody can change my mind. 3. Genesect - i love the theory of it being a modernized kabutops. Its design is awesome and its soo fun to use. Its shiny is great. 2. Gengar - has my favorite mega, and that mega has my favorite shiny of any mon. And come on its so freaking cool. 1 Mawile I really don't know why, I just really really love Mawile. I caught one in omega ruby and she became my team's star. I absolutely adore her design, how she looks both menacing and cute... and Mega Mawile is a monster. 2 Bayleef So I just fell in love with Ash's Bayleef, loved it when she defeated Harrison's Houndoom, proving everyone wrong. I also love its design and I think it's way better than Meganium. 3 Dewott I love Samurott, but man Dewott is SO COOL. I like it just because of how amazing it looks and it never let me down when I first played pokémon black. 4 Yungoos Dunno, just fell in love with its looks. I find this little guy so adorable. 5 Uxie When I first saw Uxie in PMD2 I thought it was so cute, and ever since back then it became my favorite legendary pokémon. 6 Scyther It's just too cool. Whenever I play gen1 or 2 I try to catch a Scyther because it's so amazing. 7 Purugly Another mon I fell in love with when I played PMD2 for the first time. I thought it's little sprite thingy looked so cute and I really like how it always looks like it's super pissed. 8 Gastrodon-East Yet ANOTHER PMD2 situation. Shellos and Gastrodon looked so cute there and Gastrodon always used mud bomb, which used to be one of my favorite moves for some reason, and that made me like it more. I also really like that Paul had one in the anime. 9 Salazzle Amazing design, but goddamn it took me so long to get a female Salandit. And when I got her, she turned out to be adamant!!! Despite that, I fell in love with Salazzle's elegance and smugness and I think corrosion is a super cool ability. 10 Arctovish Weird derp looking fish thing is my favorite galar mon. I used to think its mouth was... well, not where it actually is and I prefer to think of it that way, it makes it way cuter. I also really loved experimenting with it in early gen8 on a trick room team and then using it with slush rush. Some other mons I love are Stunky, Steelix, alolan Raichu and Lugia

1: Kartana. Absolute nuke of a Pokemon with a very neat design. Fun to watch stuff drop to it. Definition of "big things come in small packages." 2: Swampert. First Pokemon so naturally it would be up there. 3: Zekrom. Possibly the coolest design of any Pokemon in existence. Also very fond of the electric typing. 4: Jellicent. Specifically Gen 5 Jellicent. Love using this thing in Gen 5. Just one of those mons that I find very reliable. And yes, that demon read I made in ADPL Season 3 secured a place in my heart for it. 5: Swellow. One of those mons with a special place in my heart. I like how fast it is, how strong it is, Ash's gutsy Swellow in the anime, and it was one of the first shinies I found and caught. 6: Rotom. One of the more versatile mons out there and one of the best concepts in Pokemon period. 7: Nidoking. Long time favorite since its inception. Also Sheer Force breaking is fun. 8: Moltres (Kanto). Another mon that I have liked using competitively. Also Valor boys. 9: Zapdos (both). I may not be the most fond of Team Instinct, but I have always liked Zapdos and its design. The Galarian version is also cool and hits like a freight train. 10: Alakazam. How can one mon be so much fun to use both competitively and in game? It's a pain to train up, but once you get your Abra to an Alakazam, it clicks buttons in game. Also one of those mons with or without its Mega Evolution that is a threat on the battlefield. Narrowing to ten is hard cause I always feel like I’m leaving something out like Hydreigon, Zeraora, Metagross, or Latios but it’s probably 10. Zekrom (dragon and electric are by far my two favourite types and it’s design is so damn cool. Also the fight against N in BW is probably still one of if not my favourite in all of Pokemon) 9. Togekiss (Dawn’s Togekiss was really cool in the anime to me and Gold’s in the adventures manga just added to that. Also paraflinching is always fun when you’re not the victim) 8. Venusaur (Bulbasaur was my first starter in LG and Mega Venusaur was almost always a staple on my teams in league in gen 6 just cause no one else would draft it and it was always a reliable tank with some spicy sets) 7. Salamence (Salamence just has such a cool design and I love the story from it being a Bagon and just wanting to fly. Also I was definitely a bitch using Mega Salamence on battle spot in ORAS) 6. Blaziken (Blaziken has the best design of all the starters imo and it being able to solo Emerald and X were pretty fun when those came out. Pokepark also made it look cooler not to mention having one of the best mega designs) 5. Swampert (I used Mudkip in AS and had a lot of fun with it. Swampert has always been a reliable tank as far back as battle revolution for me and is one of the only megas that rival Blaziken for design) 4. Pikachu (honestly this used to belong to Raichu but Pikachu’s just so damn cute and I can appreciate how the sheer marketability of it has helped Pokemon grow so big cause I can’t picture the series being this successful with Clefairy as it’s mascot. Also Pikachu’s my main in smash) 3. Lucario (the 8th Pokemon movie is by far the best one imo and Lucario’s just so damn cool in it. It was also a really fun Pokemon to use in Mystery Dungeon and one of the first I got to level 100. I don’t use it as often as I used to though just cause I find it’s stats a bit underwhelming. I really wish Lucario had just 10 more base speed and if it’s not too much, 5 or 10 more in both defences) 2. Arcanine (Arcanine was like a husky tiger to me when I was a kid so it kinda combines my favourite dog with my favourite animal. Everything about its design was so cool to me and it’s has a great move pool and solid stats that make it easy to find a role for even if it doesn’t really excel at any of them) 1. Dragonite (Lance’s Dragonite in the adventures manga definitely started this one for me. I had one on my team in LG but I didn’t really use it too much until I discovered the magic of dragon dance in Soul Silver and swept the entire second half of the game. Multiscale in gen 5 made it so much cooler and the amount of success I had with it in the Battle Frontier is such a fun memory from being a kid.)

1. Tornadus-T - immediately wanted to catch it in Gen 5. Has 3 of my favorite colors in it (green, purple, red). I live in Kansas so “tornado alley”. Kept me into Pokémon through high school when I was growing out of it. 2. Plusle - Pretended like it was my starter in Ruby (like ash’s pikachu). Embodies math which was my favorite subject in school. 3. Sceptile - First ever Pokémon 4. Corsola - remember trading for it in my first ever playthrough of Ruby in pacifilog town. Also liked mistys in the anime 5. Charizard - Favorite Kanto mon. Still use my original to this day in Gen 8 although I never mega-evolved it when that was a thing 6. Umbreon - favorite eeveelution and was my main in Johto 7. Staraptor - my main in Sinnoh 8. Stoutland - my main in Unova 9. Jirachi - a friend traded me one from Colleseum to Ruby as a kid and still have it in Gen 8 10. Groudon - first ever legendary and powerhouse when paired with Tornadus in double battles. HM: Feraligatr, Mudsdale, Ribombee, Drednaw, Gogoat Side note: all of these moms I transferred through the generations and still have my originals in Home or Sword. Think that’s pretty cool 🤷🏻‍♂️

Okay here we go 1- golisopod. idk it's just amazing badass bug 2-garchomp. If I have to imagine a definitive predator irl, this comes to mind 3-Venusaur. My first and favourite starter ever, lots of nostalgia and love for it 4-zapdos and zapdos-galar. Zapdos was my first legendary caught ever, so I have a lot of nostalgia for it and it's galar form 5-rotom. Its whole gimmick and personality is amazing to me 6-mudkip. Cute baby, must be protected 7-reuniclus. Cute fetus, must be protected, and at the same time, must protect yourself from it 8-heracross. I remember spending so much time to get it on gold/silver. The og cool bug 9-corviknight. The coolest region bird ever (yeah, screw staraptor) 10-chandelure tied with volcarona. Both of these are my favourite fire types (I'm not a fire type lover tbh) Honorable mentions go to regigigas, snorlax, gastrodon, marowak and alola marowak and torterra

I always knew exactly what my top 10 are :DD 1. *Dewgong* (I love water & ice types; I was crazy excited as a kid when I figured out the Rest Hydration synergy) 2. *Wobbuffet* (Very interesting mechanics, also very loveable throughout all the anime series; I loved drawing Wobuffet too) 3. *Mimikyu* (Such a poor little soul that just wants love & friendship... Also super good in competitive. It was the first Gen 7 mon I bred) 4. *Slowbro* (I LOVED Slowbro when I first saw it in the anime used by the Elite Four lady. I liked the Slowpoke song. My favorite pokemon is Teddiursa. Phanpy, Eevee, Murkrow, Smeargle, Fennekin, Seviper, Lickitung, Komala, and Oshawott round out the top 10. Now, I kind of cheat with my favorites. Whenever I say a favorite pokemon I give the base form, but I'm including the evolutions. Teddiursa is the only exception, but I still love Ursaring. Just it is a tier lower.

10. Spiritomb - Carried hard by design. Garbage in competitive pokemon, difficult to obtain, and devoid of any gimmick cool enough to make it novel. With all that said; the design really carries- a cloud of shrieking souls stuffed into an ancient runestone is a cooler concept than most mythics, and the sprites are top quality 9. Girafarig - Deserved an Evo or at least a mega. Girafarig is too cool of a design to be left in the 455 BST hell. Plus, the concept of a normal/psychic pokemon is super cool. 8. Shedninja - A super weirdo in the world of pokemon. Wonder guard is the coolest ability. Too bad it’s hard to really get anything out of, even in single player. 7. Chandelure - The best execution of the “spirit possessing household item” design, IMO. Fire/ghost is a cool offensive typing too. 6. Rhydon - A pokemon that’s very pokemon. Rhydon’s design is so classic that it’s too hard for me to slap those ugly orange plates all over it, even for +50 bst. Luckily, eviolite or CB Rhyorn is perfectly fine to use in a playthrough- it just feels good to push the EQ button. 5. Flygon - Do I even have to explain it? Since the Jirachi Movie, he’s consistently been the coolest dude in the room. (minus the ice types lol). 4. Virizion - The last legendary I caught before I lost my copy of Pokemon Black. Super cool to kid me; It was like everything I liked about serperior and shaymin in one smug package. Plus the sacred sword animation was pretty cool. 3. Shuckle - Another super fun weirdo. Feels pretty good to play with and against. The idea of him being a slime mold is kinda gross, but he looks like the most abstractly rendered dude ever… his body’s just a bunch of spaghetti with eyes, it’s hilarious. 2. Alakazam (and Kadabra). Nothing like breezing through FRLG with a psychic’d Kadabra. It was the first capture gimmick I “figured out” (not much to really figure out, in retrospect). These two share a spot because kid me didn’t have any friends to evolve Kadabra. 1. Fearow - Weird, but something about a big mean bird just absolutely spearing things with its beak made my brain go crazy as a kid. It feels really good to click Drill Peck and Drill run with this thing to this day, idk why.

I have these criteria for pokemon : anime, badass looking, stats and the very last my personal experience with them through years. No.10: Starmie No. 9: Charizard No. 8: 👓Squirtle(black classes) No. 7: Heracross♂️(male) No. 6: 🌟Venomoth(shiny) No. 5: Latios No. 4: Roserade No. 3: Gengar No. 2: Ash's Pikachu No. 1: Tyranitar 😍🥰😘😁😆😄

My top 10 1. Tyranitar (great in competitive and also loved it in the 4th movie 2. Rayquaza (still have fond memories of trying to catch this thing in gen 3) 3. Charizard my favorite Pokemon as a kid. Loved the anime and chose him in the games always. Will always have a special place in my heart 4. Victini I fucking love it's signature move and it looks fucking cool. This thing is a nuke. I love spamming V create 5. Mew Always liked it over Mewtwo and it may not be as strong but it has way more tricks up its sleeve. Can transform into any Pokemon and learns a bunch of moves. Really cute too but don't let that fool you. 6. Shiny Umbreon my favorite eeveelution and one of my favorite Pokemon too. It looks really sleek and cool and it's also pretty good in UU and usable in OU. 7. Dragapult has really grown on me. It has a really cool design and i love spamming Shadow Balls and Draco Meteors with it 8. Lugia really cool looking. Not much else to say 9. Pichu because its so cute and think it looks better than Pikachu 10. Reuniclus very unique design and very fun mon to use in gen 5 and the newer gens too Other cool Pokemon: Golisopod, Salamence, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Glaceon, Latios, Excadrill, Kyurem, Keldeo, Shaymin S, Darkrai, Gible, Gliscor, Entei, Zekrom

There's also a lot of other Pokemon I like that I didn't put here

My top 10 in a roughly right, but non-committal order lol: 1. Lugia! I had so much exposure to this Pokemon when I was little. Pokemon 2000 was a piece of Pokemon content I absolutely adored, and while my first Pokemon game was Blue, XD: Gale of Darkness was a title I played soon thereafter! And my next mainline Pokemon game after Blue was SoulSilver lol. How could I not love Lugia? 2. Flareon! When I played Blue I always chose Blastoise. Dunno why I never considered Jolteon, I guess the Fire typing was appealing to me. So, after making that initial decision on what to do with Eevee... it'd never be the same. I grew very attached to Flareon. In XD: Gale of Darkness I picked Flareon again, and oh boy did the Fire move animations in that game blow me away! And for SoulSilver, of course I picked Flareon again. It's so cute! I feel as though it's *my* eeveelution in a way; despite liking the other designs (and their gameplay), I always gotta pick Flareon :D 3. Machamp! This spot is about tied with 4, but, what pushes it over the edge of 4 is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. When I was super little, like 5-6 years old even, I played Red Rescue Team and got Machop out of the personality quiz! A little unrelated, but, I took the quiz in a new file on Blue Rescue Team recently and I got Squirtle, which as a Blue version baby and a diehard Blastoise fan makes me happy :) But, that's just the part that pushes it over the edge of 4th spot. I was interested in Machamp even before Red Rescue Team. In Blue, when I first got through Saffron City I was fascinated by the dichotomy of the Gym and the Dojo, and by extension, the Machop line and the Abra line. I did have the official Nintendo Power guide for Red and Blue as well, so I knew in advance what those lines were. I viewed them as counterparts. My first real "goal" in Pokemon was to have both Machamp and Alakazam on the same team! I thought they'd be unstoppable! And... 4. Alakazam! Machamp and Alakazam were indeed unstoppable, after I played SoulSilver and got my hands on Platinum, you bet I forced my friend to trade evolve my Machoke, and *Kazza* the Kadabra! To this day I adore them both. (A little bonus story for the above mons, my first ever experience in Pokemon Showdown was Gen 4 OU, and my first team ever had lead Machamp on it. I knew from ingame just how devastating No Guard DynamicPunch was! I deeply enjoyed him there... Alakazam on the other hand, seems to have a lot more competitive staying power. So I've put that mon to good use in just about every gen I play!) 5. Zapdos! The OG Legendary, the first ever you encounter in a Pokemon game! I caught the shit out of this thing and I loved it. And later, in Red Rescue Team, I recruited this mon and actually made it a core part of the team! Zapdos, Machamp, Raichu was my power party. And if memory serves, that Zapdos was my first ever level 100 Pokemon! Otherwise my team from Gale of Darkness hit 100 first, I forget. Never forget though, the power of Detect+Rest+Thunderbolt, monster houses be damned lol 6. Blastoise/Feraligatr/Infernape! This is my list so I make the rules! I don't really want to bloat the list so this is the beloved starter spot. I just love these mons, I associate with them because, well, they were MY premier pokes. They were mine, and we grew together, and we beat the champions! Maybe that sounds weird but I hope that feeling of identity is understandable lol, in a way only an old Pokemon fan could understand. (Also, Infernape > Blaziken and Emboar, ha! >:D) 7. Staraptor! Initially, I kinda hated this thing. And that's because it showed up Pideot lmao. But looking back I only feel adoration for the most badass Pokemon companion bird, with the bravest birds and the closest of combats! P.S. my Staraptor can beat your Staraptor okay 8. Gardevoir! I snagged that Shadow Ralts on the ONBS Building roof in Gale of Darkness, and she quickly became a pillar of my team! I loved the animations for Psychic type moves too, Psychic and Psycho Boost being the standouts. I was super young and I did have a teeny tiny crush lmao. But overall I love this mon, her and the other Gale of Darkness team members bring back so many good childhood memories. Speaking of... 9. Ursaring! That Shadow Teddiursa did make himself a permanent spot on my Gale of Darkness team, and with the power of friendship (base 102 ;)) we cleaved through Cipher and the Orre region! I will always cherish this teddy bear. 10. Pikachu! Now this Pokemon, I used to despise. I thought it had no substance, was highly overrated, I was one of those kids. Opinionated and decidedly counter-culture lol. But honestly? I love Pikachu now. My view on it started to turn about the point when I made it my partner in Red Rescue Team (a petty move, I wanted to make it second fiddle to Machop). And of course I grew attached. Then, I played the crap out of Pokepark and by that point, yeah Pikachu was pretty alright. SoulSilver's Red and his Pikachu are undeniably iconic, and I can Ash's anime Pikachu now as well. Never thought I'd be putting Pokemon's cutesy mascot on a list like this but here we are! It's well deserved :) HONORABLE MENTIONS BECAUSE 10 SPOTS AREN'T ENOUGH: - Magnezone, Floatzel, Garchomp, Butterfree, Raticate, Pidgeot, Forretress, Walrein, Ledian, Ampharos, Victreebel, Noctowl, Furret, Lucario, Zangoose, Crobat, Starmie, Lilligant!!!!! Shoutout to all my wonderful team members! - Deoxys. There used to be something so fascinating about it's insane base stats back in the day. It was just about the coolest Pokemon ever to me, I even called it my favorite for years. Psycho Boost's Gale of Darkness animation might have carried it a little too lol - Mewtwo/Mew/Celebi. Always had a thing for the old generation legendaries/mythicals. The 3 mentioned had awesome stories in the movies too. - Gyarados. The classic! Such a unique Pokemon, one of a kind! Milotic does not take away from the actually legendary Gyarados in any way. Everybody knows about the story of Magikarp, and any player of the first generation games bought that unassuming, borderline useless fish in that Pokemon Center lmao. That line gives you front row seats to a well-earned, feel-good story of a useless karp growing to be one of the greatest Pokemon to ever live. To this day Gyarados still kicks ass!
