I worked for this tight wad farmer where I operated a claas 6 row chopper. I had the oldest one of the bunch. It was about year 2003.

Last shot brought back great memories. I ran Dad's 4020 pulling a John Deere #38 Two row chopper. He ran a 4520 pulling a second one. Back in 1974. We custom chopped 200,00 tons that year.

This video runs the entire range from the 925 hp Claas, to the 95 hp John Deere. The self propelled harvesters powered by the Detroit Diesels made the same amount of noise, whether they were chopping corn or not!

Worked in product engineering at Worked at Ford new Holland as well as Sperry new Holland before they got bought out by Ford The Wopper chopper was running way to slow? We tested as well other manufacturers were field tested at our facility. The tear down to see the inner works was enjoyable see. The sounds are great to hear.

Like watching BigX 1100 at work cutting corn silage but I do like Claas. Interesting seen 1038 with nearly 400hp pulling forage harvester as Krone has forage built to hook onto 3 point linkage n operating in reverse drive for 1038 n bigger brother.
