I used to be a brony, but I still find Discord to be one of my all-time favorite animated villains! His design and character is really good; and they got John de Lancie to give him the perfect voice! All villains seek control over everything, however, all Discord wants to do is troll the world by distorting reality using his magical powers; and instead of confronting people directly and stopping the good guys from winning, Discord always finds their greatest inner-strength, and can break them apart psychologically and spiritually only using his words; and you really can't deny what he says is false because he says it as it is: He told an always-honest character "Sometimes, a lie is easier to take!" after revealing the truth to her that her friends would have a falling-apart, and she would be the one to tell her friends it. He told a character that always made people laugh "Laughter can be a bad thing!" by scaring her and constantly laughing at her terrified reactions "Not sharing with anybody is beneficial to yourself!" He told a character who stays loyal and dedicated to her friends that she had to abandon her friends in order to go home and save her hometown from being destroyed by telling her "Sometimes, you have to sacrifice your loyalty to save yourself!" To me, Discord just proves you don't have to use magic, strength, or gadgets to defeat heroes: You can halt them in your tracks only using your words!

To be fair he also use magic along with his word to trick applejack into what saw was the truth, convince rarity that the boulder was a diamond and rainbow dash that a random cloud was cloudsdale, and just straight up slapped a spell on fluttershy when he couldn’t convince her of anything using his words

Why no mention of Discord's inspiration? Lauren Faust, the creator of the show, pitched the character to Hasbro as similar to Q from Star Trek. And wouldn't you know it, they got John de Lancie, Q in the flesh, to do the voice. As they say, the rest is history.

You know, less people would be so wretchedly hateful towards MLP if they could just LET GO of the preconceptions they have towards a show named "My Little Pony". Yes, it's a show based off a blatantly girl concept. Get rid of those flame-colored glasses for a moment and look at it for what it is - *a well-done show in pretty much every aspect of production and storytelling.* I would've loved to have seen Discord higher on the list, but he was a villain for only a short time. Now if the big character development arc he had in Season 4 lent to his place in a list, he'd better be higher up. XD That was some of the best character development I've seen in a cartoon.

Lord Hater isn't the only comedic Wander Over Yonder villain. Emperor Awesome's design is ridiculously hilarious. Like, really? A talking shark dressed as a king? The show's true main villain, Lord Dominator, constantly switches from being a serious threat to a bubbly and energetic troll in a matter of seconds. In fact, almost all of the villains in Wander Over Yonder display at least some form of comedy.

I counted "Return of Harmony parts 1 & 2 as different episode, I counted Keep Calm and Flutter On as 1, and I counted him as being a villain for half the time during Twilight's Kingdom(its 2 episodes long so I counted half as being a whole episode. So that leaves us with 4 wholes episodes of him being a villain, 3 if you count Return of Harmony as one episode.

While Bill Cipher is more vile than other comedic villains, he still has some laughable moments such as being more concerned about the door being broken down rather than the Shacktron, and having his eye injured in various ways, such as getting hit by a redirected laser beam he fired, sprayed on, and even getting torn out of its socket by the previously aforementioned Shacktron. Heck, he even made an appearance in a Disney Chibiverse episode.
