It's true that while the people on Gogglebox are appearing on Gogglebox, that they're not allowed to appear on any other tv show. However, there's no such thing as being black listed once they do decide to leave and go on other tv shows. The terminology "black listed", has obviously been used to make the content of this video sound so much more scandalous than it actually is. Apart from Charlotte, Sandi has gone on to do several shows. So has Kate, the vicar. Amy Tapper has appeared on a dating show (if I'm not mistaken) and Stephen, who left last year, was also going to appear on Dancing on Ice until an injury forced him to change those plans. It's also not possible for any Goggleboxers to get involved with any one specific political party whilst they appear on Gogglebox. They can have their political views, of course no-one can stop them from having such opinions. But if they do become a particular member of a political party &/or plan to run for a political seat in any level of government, then they are no longer able to appear on the show as a Goggleboxer. Which is why the Michaels had a gap in their seasons a few years back, due to the Dad in that family choosing to run for the UKIP party. And also Josh from the Tappers, who has been a Labour Party candidate in the past and plans to run again later this year.

I'd always thought that the families/ home owners signed a contract with Channel 4 to have the cameras filming their reactions and they could watch with whoever they wanted to have in the room. It wouldn't matter what they said either because anything offensive could just get edited out. It takes the piss if each individual involved with the show has to sign their own personal contract to remain committed to the agreement because it feels like Channel 4 are dictating what these people are allowed to do in their own homes if one if them simply dosent want to watch a certain show but there is still more than one other person for that household reacting to what they're watching.

I used to think they put a camera by their tv and the families just watched TV as normal and the show picked out what they wanted from that but no ,turns out theres a whole film crew there out of view and they are given everything to watch by production.

If she had let the dog eat the chicken she would still be wrong. All my dogs are rescues, I am also a dog fosterer. In my experience, dogs are fast when it comes to food, especially pups of that type of breed. He could have stolen that chicken in less than a blink of an eye and do himself internal damage. It was just a knee-jerk reaction, on her part.

Gogglebox is a bit of an odd one. It's a very successful show, made so by the personalities on it, but they received very little reward for it, yes some have gone on to be famous or earned money though other opportunities, but being able to make witty quips on your sofa doesn't mean you deserve the right to fame, so yes, it's a tricky situation to be thrust into, with little support from C4 it would seem.

When I moved back to Liverpool after mum was diagnosed with dementia I became friends with June, she was a truly lovely person. And I appreciated her visits to mum when the dementia had progressed quite far - mum’s face used to light up the second she saw June & heard her voice. I still miss the text messages I used to get from her on a Thursday night when we’d both be watching Question Time - our political views were very similar so I’d often get outraged texts from her! The world lost a couple of good ones when June & Leon passed away.
