Kids need to be inspired and encouraged, and kids will always give their all in anything they do. As adults, we seem to lose that eagerness and will to do our best and Gordon doesn’t need that negativity in his chefs. I also hate adult chefs that make poor excuses. “You’ve been cooking for how long? How dare you waste my time with anything less than your best?”

When they were dressed to represent where they're from, Joe should have dressed "American". He was born in New York. He just says he's "from" Italy. I have European heritage too but I was still born in Maryland. Gordon actually was born in Scotland.
