Jake, great comment. As a professional touring, recording, gigging guitarist for over 36 years, I could not agree more. I had a habit of getting home from a show, 4 to 6 hours on stage, sometimes more. After winding down, sit back with a guitar and play that song. Maybe just the solo. Such expression, such feel. That one always hits a homerun. Thank you for giving George a shout.

And there is also a lot of great guitar work on The Beatles as well...the solo on Back in the USSR, the rhythm work on Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except For Me and My Monkey, Clapton's contribution on While My Guitar Gently Weeps, etc. The Beatles constructed their guitar work to fit the material, instead of just contributing any old stereotypical slop.

The Wall is way too far down the list imo. Also, Dark Side of the Moon's not on here? All the albums on the list are undoubtedly classics that deserve to be on here, but I do think the list was made specifically with guitar solos in mind, so classics like Nirvana's Nevermind that are more riff/rhythm guitar-oriented weren't even considered or given an honorable mention. Here are some albums I think at least deserved an honorable mention: Siamese Dream (Smashing Pumpkins), Joshua Tree (U2), Nevermind (Nirvana), any of the RHCP albums with Frusciante, Paranoid (Black Sabbath), Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughan).

Listen to the first four songs on Permanent Waves if you don't believe me, all are filled with amazing guitar playing from Alex Lifeson. As for Boston, come on now, that's a hard rock album with amazing guitar play if there ever was one. Scholz's work on the guitar deserves some kind of mention.

They are both very influential guitar-wise, really who goes first is just a game, subjective, u cant measure accurately who influenced more guitarists. Like my top 3 are actually hendrix van halen and page, and at times i think page is n2 and after i may say its n3, really the only one i never doubt is n1 hendrix.

Alex Lifeson is so underated. It's one of those things in life I'll never understand it. And I'm not some Rush lunatic, I like them a lot but I don't listen to them regularly (yes shame on me). So many options, they should make another list.
