Do you mean to tell me that you put Mean Girls on this list, but not Heathers?

Hopefully most teenagers can't relate to Heathers as much since all it is is about teenagers that murder people, so I wouldn't consider it a quintessential reflection of teen life.
@marroz72718 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ. While I have only seen the Musical, I can certainly relate to the story. Not the killing, of course, but everything else. Heathers is not merely about teenagers killing people. It's about social hierarchies, bullying, homophobia, and so many heavy topics. I believe that the story (at least in the musical) is executed brilliantly. It has certainly changed my view on life, at least.

They mentioned it ._.
@LordTepes819 жыл бұрын
D R It's still bullshit. That movie should have definitely have been on that list. If they're gonna put a, boring, movie like Juno on there, then how could they leave off one of the most iconic teen movies ever to be made? A lot of their lists suck ass, anyways, so it's not surprising they left it off and only mentioned it for 2 seconds.

Wulf I thought it was going to be number 1 lol. Maybe they don't consider it a "teen movie" for some reason even though it definitely is.

I've watched Rebel Without A Cause in my art of film class at school. It's such an iconic film that wants to relate to young audiences, to let them know that they aren't alone while going through their awkward and sometimes lonely teenage years. Definitely on my top 5 list of teen movies, next to Heathers, The Breakfast Club, The Outsiders, and Dazed and Confused.

tiffsaver He was also in "The Outsiders" and they didn't mention that at all! Sure, teenagers in real life don't tend to accidentally kill other teenagers but it felt more real to me than other teen movies. It focases on what it's like to grow up on the "wrong side of the tracks" if you know what I mean. It brings a different perspective.

'kids' is such a raw look at teens in the 90s really a great movie
@bobdole49169 жыл бұрын
ravishingelite It's probably not here because it's such a bleak film. Every character gets a bad ending and most of the characters are just plain unlikable. I'm not sure it's a great film though. It felt like it was trying to be a morality tale (like it's saying, "look at all the bad stuff that happens if you have sex and party!"), but that it used shock to get people to watch. I was pretty impressed by the acting though. Surprised I haven't noticed any of those kids in any movies since then.
@Godsmack94949 жыл бұрын
+ravishingelite most of the characters are early teens and the movie is way more of a dark drama film, rather than a funny social commentary, which is what the typical "teen movie" goes for.

April Hinds And it's fine if your favorite types of movies to watch are teen movies, but your comment should be more along the lines of, "Movies today don't have many teen movies which makes me like them less" instead of, "movies today are shit because most don't pander to my liking." Movies today are just as good as they ever were.
