what makes Shadow Queen worse is that unlike the previous Paper Mario game, you can't easily warp back to resupply, so unless you want to retrek through the entire dungeon again... twice, your items are bound to be somewhat spent, so you need to make sure you are good enough to minimize item usage getting up to her, and there are at least four to five bosses leading up to her in the first place

The thing that’s kind of hard to gauge about difficulty in these games is that if you use the right strategy, some of these bosses are way easier. Princess Shroob is super hard…. Unless you spam Mix Flowers. Grodus and Bowser + Kammy is just cruel… unless you level up during Grodus. Some bosses, like the Anti-Unit and Shadow Queen, are just straight up really hard with no way to play around. Heck, even the Ice King doesn’t have much counterplay, so that would technically make him harder than Elder Shroob, but I digress. TL;DR Difficulty is subjective

What's crazy is I think the feeling fine badge doesn't block being frozen to help with the status effect part of the crystal king's ice attack, on top of it dealing 6 damage if you fail to block it. This move shreds Mario's hp very fast if you're not prepared.

@@morphstarchangeling8024 True. I know Feeling Fine only states it blocks Dizzy and Sleep. I know it actually blocks more statuses than that, but freeze is not one of them.

It's the only boss in the game I didn't beat because he has an instant kill attack, and I'm awful at dodging

I'm surprised 3D Culex isn't on here, that is one evil boss instantly doing a move at the start of the battle that does Character's max HP - 1 on every character into a plethora of Crystal shenanigans

That was a really good list! I agree with pretty much everything you said. That said, I would have removed the cake boss and added Cortez. They’re both bosses that do a lot of damage if you let them, but can be mitigated if you’re quick enough. Cortez doesn’t have a thing that stops him from attacking if you hit him, although he does have a weak point, so I guess you could argue it’s the same thing. Still, great video! Loved it ❤😊

Two things 1: King Olly is not that hard, I feel like something like Tape should have taken this spot 2: If you get to beating Dream Team then Giant Bowser would definitely be on the list.

Great video. Very well done top 10. I've replayed TTYD recently doing a no HP up challenge and man I'm terrified to reach the shadow queen on this. When you can't tank hits it really shows how different that game is from 64.

Yeah, he’s the only boss in the game that’s weakness is a part of their character instead of some arbitrary Thing Sticker you probably wouldn’t even know you needed

I’d say the hardest boss in the Mario RPGs for me would probably be Bowser X, since you have to go through a gauntlet of the other X bosses just to have a chance to fight him. Not to mention he’s pretty difficult on his own and you have to beat him in a certain number of turns.

Bonetail not on the list?? He's arguably harder than the Shadow Queen only because of the Pit of 100 trials before him

But you also level up a lot in the trials. Assuming you go there only after the main story. Bonetail's damage output is quite manageable. It's the one fight where I love to use Aerona the most. Use the kiss move and surviving won't be a problem. Just make sure you can at least get the a-button timing right when bonetail uses breath.

You forgot about the Bunt Raspberry Boss Rematch as the Rematch is even more difficult with the Chefs joining the fight and you have to stop them from lighting all the candles on the cake before it fires a Giant laser that is verified an AOE one hit KO move, thank Rosalina for Peach's Sleepy Time.

I guess I got really lucky. The Ice King I always considered him like the easiest boss in 64. I may have just got extremely lucky. I really think Bonetail is tougher than the Shadow Queen. I guess you could make the argument it’s the pit itself tho that makes him tough tho.
