I like ( heavy metal ) guitar solos that do in fact have a part of the main melody within the solo, as mentioned here in the Mr. Crowley solo. Off the top of my head, a good example is the solo from ' We're Not Gonna Take It' by Twisted Sister, which is a variation of the main vocal melody.

I don't get why there is so much hate for Avenged Sevenfold here in the comments. I mean if you'rclassification of a good band is big bearded overweight, wasted band members, overly-distorted drop c riffs and screaming every second... you'r kinda simple minded. I think avenged have taken metal to a new level. One that is not neanderthal pleasing, but a little more complex and thought out. I mean from their arrangements of their songs to their riffs and scales that they use, almost every thing they play is memorable and awesome to hear. I....I just don't get the hate. It honestly makes no sense sometimes, with you people on youtube lol.
@TheRokyt9 жыл бұрын
The_Slayer _Cannibal Why would you care (or get mad even) if some random person on the internet says that Synyster is the best guitar player? Or Avenged is a really good band? It's just an opinion, I mean who cares? Not like their offending anyone. Also, hating a band because of their loyal fans alone is just not right. Again, still don't get the hate.
@TheRokyt9 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you on a lot of their songs, as the newer ones are just groove oriented. But City of Evil, either way you look at it is a VERY complex album. There are some songs in there that i literally could not even understand the timing and rhythm of it all until i heard it a second or third time lol. Now that hardcore speed metal and stuff like those other bands play might have a few more notes in there. Sure a little less thought out, but .....more notes lol.

***** Some of their songs, but DEFINITELY not all of them. I personally like that as it gives the album a different vibe throughout the entire thing, and you never get tired of listening to the same styled overly complicated metal that most albums have out nowadays.

He was transcendental and broke the mold on the "second day the music died" March 19th, 1982. True fans will get the reference. Everyone will have an opinion, which ultimately is all they are, but I submit that the solo in Judas Priest’s ‘Freewheel Burning’ from Defenders of the Faith is THEE definition of heavy metal itself. It starts out chaotic, almost uncontrolled, then transitions to a part where it finds focus, before finally ending in an amazing harmony section. For me, that always read like a metaphor for metal itself: a collection of individuals, angry and looking for an outlet (chaotic part of solo), then we learn of this genre of music called heavy metal and suddenly we have an outlet (finding focus part of solo), finally massing together with like minds and spirits in arenas the world over (harmony part of solo). It is perfection.
