What I like about Lich's facet is that if an enemy gets itself a lingering sphere and waits it out you still get value by forcing the target out of combat for 2.5-4.5 seconds + the time to return to fight. It's basically 3 to 5 seconds of control (even more if something makes the sphere to jump again!)

That Pudge's flay hook is only better when a pudge hits his hook. "When" and "If". Pub games don't have that kind of a pudge most of the time.
