I was just thinking this as well. Glad someone pointed it out lol. It goes beyond that small scene on the TV though. Shadow mentions shortly after that scene about how the scientist view him like a monster. He then compares himself to the monster on the TV when discussing his purpose in life with Maria. In the lore, biolizard was the prototype version of Shadow. For him to compare himself to his prototype was an interesting nod to the fans. Even if it was being potrayed as godzilla in the movie.

I'm going to watch this with my 6 year old tomorrow. It's his first time at a movie theater, so it should be very exciting for him. I grew up with a genesis (and a snes, my dad liked gaming too;) it's great to experience the excitement again. I really need to see Sonic the Hedgehog 3 so badly! I especially love the references in the movie! They referenced Sonic and Shadow's iconic pose in Sonic Adventure 2 and of course they referenced Shadow's motorcycle and his gun in his game called Shadow the Hedgehog! Also I noticed in the credits scene we see Amy and Metal Sonic for a minute, she even saved Sonic from the Metal Sonics. I know it's a slight spoiler, but I couldn't resist.🤩😅

10. I tell you, I had to fight the urge to whistle along to that epic song during the climactic finale. It was so epic! 9. Certainly a blink and you'll miss it moment there. 8. That had me laughing. I can't tell you how many times I've done that to my own USB flash drives. 😆 7. This confirms what I've long speculated: Insanity is, in fact, an inherent genetic feature among the Robotnik family. Especially after seeing what Maria did with those roller skates. 😆 6. It's a good thing the motorcycle stayed a staple of Shadow's gear and not his membership with the NRA. 😄 5. The fact that Knux got freaked out by Casper of all ghosts makes this even more hilarious. 😆 4. I freaking love that they made the Chao Garden into a Japan Chuck E. Cheese. The fact that they played an old Michael Jackson song (circa the Jackson 5 days, I believe) in Japanese is icing on this reference cake as Sonic's style was originally inspired by the King of Pop. 3. That was such a great callback there. Ben's delivery on that line was awesome. 2. I was not expecting a Super Sonic vs Super Shadow fight, but holy crap! It gave me chills! 1. I will not lie, when I saw Metal Sonic, I was intrigued. When I saw an army of Metal Sonics, I was stunned. But, nothing raised my excitement levels to new heights quite like seeing Amy Rose show up like that! I kid you not, I screamed with delight! You know how Maximilian Dood reacted when he first saw the announce trailer for the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics? That was me upon seeing Amy's signature hammer and then revealing herself. I could barely breathe. No movie has EVER gotten that kind of reaction from me like that! How everyone felt when they first saw Shadow at the end of 2, I'm currently feeling now. 2027 never felt more further away... OMG! 😁

I got a personal theory that Silver will be in the next Sonic movie and that Metal Sonic and Amy are from the Future. CD has a time travel gimmick to it and Metal Sonic clearly came in like the terminator, Amy wearing a cloak which could be used during a bad future and them already using Iblis in the Knuckles show.

Bruh do think its wise to have child die on screen in a graphic manner when there are KIDS watching not just teens and adults, Also we don't truly know if Robotnik is dead bc most ppl thought so after Sonic 2 when the Death Egg Robot was destroyed but he survived and he could possibly return in future and The Biolizard not appearing in Sonic 3 wouldn't have made sense as Gerald didn't create either it or Shadow.

@ Gerald did create it as his prototype ultimate lifeform. A one off r rated death would’ve been a true dedication to fans of Sonic & Shadow & Jim Carey originally said that Sonic 2 would be his last film before retiring but he was paid a lot for one more outing. Unless he’s paid more, Robotnik/Eggman would have to be recasted but otherwise if the 4th movie uses material from Sonic CD, it would have involve a younger Robotnik appearing.
