Basically all the animated Disney movies around this time didn't get the love they deserved. The blame lies with poor timing (releasing them in time to compete with Star Wars and Harry Potter) and Pixar (and later, Dreamworks's Shrek) making cg movies popular. Suddenly, traditionally animated movies were poison for quite some time.

Kronk is the reason why I love the emperor's new groove. Why because he's not only a strong guy but he's clumsy he doesn't try to hide his clumsiness. He lives in his own world. And he's funny without even trying to be funny and that's what makes Kronk a really cool character

The good plot with Kronk is that you appreciate him as the movie goes because you see his good-hearted nature and the adults are like, "Why does he work for such an evil person?" Then you realize that although Kronk is good at heart, his smarts aren't really high enough for him to realize that he was doing bad things on her behalf and you honestly could believe it! Whether it was him thinking the two guys really couldn't see him, the broccoli scene, and best of all his shoulder angel/devil talks!
