I was one of those that never knew who big a difference the cables make lol. I used to have super cheap cables and got so much noise and static, and then got some mogami gold and it made a world of difference.

Man No.2 is what I tell all clients all day, it’s the reason I allow them to control their own headphone volume via a headphone distribution device, the “Professionals” understand the reasoning. Others could care less they don’t get it. I also use washable headphone covers.

Hey bro is that the Mogami 2534? I used the 2549 for a while but the 2534 worked better on my neve and 87 signal probably because of the double shielding i think.

Hey Archie. Should I invest in a USB mic like Samson G track Pro or an AKG P220? I want to start Voice Over and Rapping from home. The Samson mic has an interface built in and as you know the AKG needs an interface. I'm looking for a budget buy. Both Setups would cost me around $350 CAD. What would you suggest?

What do you call your sweet spot when recording in a home studio to get a clean sounding vocal i hear alot of people say between -18 to -12 db
@BORN7SUPREME4 жыл бұрын
-18 is a comfortable spot to allow headroom and any applied plug-ins to work properly. However some 🎤 may need a bit more gain to get a certain feel.
@archiebeatz4 жыл бұрын
@@BORN7SUPREME That's definitely a great method to have some headroom for your dynamic processing and eq'ing.

Im having seruous problems with my recording that I cant seem to solve. I do not like the quality of my music but I cant quite figure out what it is thats not making it mix well. I have decent equipment. Rode NT1 microphone, treated room, golden age jr preamp, motu m2 interface, with Fl studio as my daw. Every vocal video has these tips and I follow them but im still running into this sound quality issue. The last thing I can think of is my studio is on hardwood floors. Do you think that has any type of affect on my sound? If so what do you suggest?
@TheOneKeyToLife4 жыл бұрын
What kind of mic cables do you have? Are you properly gain staging?
@BlackGoldSoul4 жыл бұрын
@@TheOneKeyToLife yes Im using the cables that came with my Rode NT1 if that counts or do you think i should get something better? and im not sure if im gain staging. I know i follow the recommended settings but im not sure if i should take extra steps What do you suggest?

@@KeenApollo I have tried many different mics. Audio technica, blue spark sl, rode nt1, and the BM700. Im pass the point of blaming the mics. I think it may be my room condition but im but sure
@TheOneKeyToLife4 жыл бұрын
BlackGold Soul describe your room conditions. I myself don’t have the perfect acoustics by any means but I have carpet floor, a bed in the corner that acts like a bass trap, a window that’s covered with curtains, lots of paper and stuff on the walls, and desks diffusing/absorbing sound and I’m able to get pretty good recordings

I need help Man I got a audio Apollo twin Avalon 737 plug-in auto tune pro plugin waves auto tune nuemann tlm 102 microphone and my recordings are sound horrible idk why bro please help Me I spent hella bread and just want my songs to sound good
@4everyonebutyou2 жыл бұрын
I have and currently use the Tlm 102 and it’s definitely not ideal for home studios , it picks up a lot of room noise that you have to try and cut out when mixing . So minimizing that room noise is a solution , but try to Search around for free vocal presets for fl studio if you haven’t already and try out some and see what fits well with your voice and adjust it accordingly. I honestly thought the same thing when I dropped a lot of money on a new mic and preamp but it took me a second to actually mix things correctly in Fl studio to make the mic fit with my untreated room but now it’s like butter fr. Good equipment doesn’t always mean it’ll automatically sound good , you gotta learn how to engineer yourself if you really want to make good music by yourself fr . I’m talking from personal experience everyday of my life trying to learn this shit it’s ridiculous but just watch a bunch of mixing videos and go by your ears , constant trial and error . Hope that helps 🙏🏼
