I am a bit biased here because I am working on my own drone startup, but many of the drones listed and not listed here are not drone manufacturers but jut buy drone parts from China and put it together just like hobby drones many people do. Not all but many are, but I don't want to name names here. They are all focused on services and that's not a problem, but calling themselves drone manufacturers is so wrong in many levels. It just demotivates lot of the companies doing real work but are not recognized. These companies use their funds to market themselves so well and are not focused on real R&D. Nevertheless a great list. Hope to see more real startups making into the list or the listed ones make real R&D. Edit: Except Agam Robotics. 🤣🤣 Thanks for the shoutout!

Did I make it in the the video! Damn!

Haha didn't share the video with you on WhatsApp because I wanted to see if you'd spot it yourself or maybe see "BwM sent me!" in comments of one of your videos. But you found the vid within minutes of us posting it! 👏 Am also hoping to see more "hardware" Indian drone startups in the future, but without a tech manufacturing ecosystem, it's hard not to rely on China as a tech/sensor/chip provider, especially once you're funded and investors push for growth. Founders can be martyrs/revolutionaries, but VCs aren't 😅 -Caleb

@@backstagewithmillionaires Haha. That came by as a surprise for sure! I was quite busy when I got the notification, but it was hard not to click the video when it had drone in the title and that too from BWM. I agree, it's hard to be self-reliant and not depend on China. I am facing the brunt of it. Pushing for growth over developing the tech is the exact reason I have less confidence to talk to investors about my startup for funding. Hard to find such investors who likes to invest. Hope to find some.

Hi Karthik , we know this and even though we at Rodella Aerospace are now a small company we don't rely on shortcuts and are building our airframes inhouse.
@karthik_kwads8 ай бұрын
@@pranshkhubchandani8102 That's wonderful to hear. I know a bunch of companies are working to make lot of things inhouse. But they don't get to be on the top unfortunately.

Very good summary. Don't know how Garuda is not getting into trouble for this blatant scam. It will make indians seem like scammers.

@@harshitjindal2809how are you so sure? as far as i know they are using a foreign software for conducting their drone light shows and their drone hardware is mostly taken from open source projects and that too i am not sure whether they are using it or not, cause the software doesn't actually support their custom hardware.
@harshitjindal28098 ай бұрын
@@rishu_Kumar07 yes you are talking about before scenario they started like this the software is skybrush open source and support pixhawk based hardware , but not they have made their own software the drones are not real swarm intelligence the file is putted before only for location and timings , the hardware like fc , esc , gps board they have customised of their own open source but still their own customised

Garuda Aerospace is a jumla startup. They are very good at marketing and scaling thanks to the CEO's political connections. There is no real innovation. Sad ...

why don't we have companies like DJI which sells its product to consumers here in India, i mean all these companies are making drones either for defence or other b2b purposes. if i want to buy a drone for like say videography none of these companies are catering this need.😒

The person I mentioned in the video, Karthik, is planning to build drones for the B2C use-case. But you're right, it's sad that there isn't really an Indian DJI equivalent. -Caleb
@karthik_kwads8 ай бұрын
Yes, that's true. That's what my focus is on with Agam Robotics. Focusing more on the consumer side which is neglected at this moment. It has been really difficult to actually get things manufactured in India and finding investors in this sector of hardware so it's quite slow in terms of progress.
