So funny I have sage green walls now and I am redoing my cabinets and I painted them a swiss coffee and a very muted blue/gray color I can't remember the name of the blue but I am painting my walls repose gray so tired of the green lol. We bought our home last year and I loved the green but it is time for it to go lol. I also painted all of my interior doors and exterior doors black. In the main living space you see the front door, back door and two bedroom doors it is a small space so the black really pops and makes it feel more designed to me. Thanks for sharing and green is my fav color but I have used it forever and I am moving towards blues now so guess I will not be on trend yet again lol.

Enjoyed the video. I’m in the boomer generation. Its interesting that traditional decor is coming back. To me it was always about quality, comfort, lighting and doing what appeals to your aesthetic. I love mixing traditional with modern, like abstract art over a beautiful wood chest. Creamy white walls with an Oushak rug. Also its nice to have some open spaces and some more private.

I feel much better after watching this video. 50 years old and never really decorated or considered design styles or interior decorating. I feel in love with the gray/cream/soft beige colored look and decided that even though I liked the new recommended paints, I didn’t want to fully commit. I’m pretty sure I read that accent walls are “out” but I might just do one accent wall of color and the rest a soft cream. That way i can easily repaint one wall for a new look. It will be fun to pick out a few coordinating accent colors to make the green pop a bit.

Remodeled my home in 2020 and went with 7 1/2” white oak flooring. Our house is also older with beautiful wall panels, archways and pocket doors. Went with Simply White on the doors and drift of mist on the paneled walls throughout the entire house. Glad to see I made the right choices from your video and hearing what’s coming in trend for 2022. I get compliments on my flooring all the time and yes, they are easy to clean and just make the room light and airy.

I think you are on point with all of your design trends advice. Thank you so much for the great video! The only one I would push back a little on, not because it’s not on trend, but because I think it’s risky, is the floors. I totally agree that dark, dark floors are out, however, the sand colored floors that you are recommending could potentially be risky. They are on trend now(and beautiful!), but they will not always be. As someone who just refinished and added more hardwood to our entire house, I can say with 100% certainly, I will never do that again. It was such an ordeal. I struggled with the color so much, and I LOVE(!!!) the light, sandy colored floors that are on trend. However, I know that look will go out as fast as it came in, so I opted to choose a historic color. Although it’s darker than I wanted, I am hoping in the long run, it will always be relevant and never look dated.🤞🏽 Floors are such a huge project and investment, so they are kind of a one and done project, so you’ve got to go timeless. Just my two cents. 😄

I have the same opinion, I feel the ultra light are going to leave as fast as they came. Dark floors are classic, I think a safe color is a midpoint that's slightly darker than it is light.

Kristen, I was glad to hear about the flooring colors. I’m having a home built and I did pick a sand colored flooring. I wanted something that wasn’t to light or to dark. I guess I’m trending without knowing it, lol
