AW609 correction. Aircraft don't have a "restroom" or "bathroom". In the world of aviation, nautical terminology is used. So the "toilet area" would be properly referred to as a "lavatory" or "the head".

Would it be an idea, to create a aircraft with both a running engine, a battery and electric propulsion, now we have an electric long range hybrid. Simply the engine runs like apowerplant, feeding batttery and propulsion at the same time. the engine does not run at full capacity which saves fuel, its only function is to suply electricity.

I'd opt for the Aston Martin DB11 S AWD 6.0 Biturbo V12 2-Dr Luxury Touring Coupe (RHD) any day over the H130 AM Special Edition!!! they could have also done a PORSCHE special edition variant of the H160 ACH!!!
@viktorcsanyi7264 жыл бұрын
The H160 is a just approved brand new helicopter. So the ACH160 being its executive variant, is pretty special on its own and exists only in one example (in contrast to the decades old H130 which badly needs this SE variant to cheer up some attention, even though it's worth a dozen Aston Martin DB11 in cash). :)

...i still dont understand why the helicopters needs a tapered nose.. there is no technical advantage to this design considering they are only able to travel less than 200mph.. this nose design impedes pilot's view specifically during landing & hovering.. this nose design is mostly applicable to private jets as they travel in excess of 600mph... the best helicopter design are those with clear dome under the pilot view.. this helps a lot during landing and hovering..
@TheBeingReal2 жыл бұрын
Most all those have windows looking downward. It also adds room for avionics. Airflow over the cabin matters too. Also when spending $3M+ for executive travel: style matters.

@automotiveterritory4 жыл бұрын
Well, if you think about, helicopters shouldn't be flying at all;) they "defy" the laws of physics by pushing tons of air downwards via a rotating blade. Complicated, inefficient, hard to maintain. A Luxury product with an appropriate pricetag
@commonsense314 жыл бұрын

Even the least expensive helicopter has an obscene amount of maintenance and upkeep involved with ownership.💰💰💰 If electric VTOL vehicles ever actually take to the skies...you'll see the low -to- mid segment of the helicopter market wiped out. A good thing if you ask me. 🤔
@automotiveterritory4 жыл бұрын
It's already good to see electric VTOLs being developed. How long do you think it will take for them to become competitive? It looks like they are years away from making it.

@rbhebron3 жыл бұрын
...helicopters are an old technology, as introduced by sikorsky in 1946.. no significant improvements on the design have been introduced as of late.. this is already due for an upgrade.. enter multi rotor hovering VTOL.. they dont need an experienced helicopter pilot since everything is automatic.. take off and landings are smooth & seamless, even without pilots.. it can hold altitudes as long as there is charge.. its quiet and very comfortable.. with the development of denser battery capacity, they will become the next generation of helicopters for business and short travels.. the helicopter business will get a shakedown as they will become irrelevant very soon..
@tazuk012 жыл бұрын
There have been 1000s of updates to helicopters
@automotiveterritory2 жыл бұрын
I would say that both technologies will coexist for a long time. VTOLs might indeed prevail, but it's gonna be awhile
@TheBeingReal2 жыл бұрын
There willl be a mix of both. For the near future, if you need distance and/or lift capability: turbine power is unmatched. Pilotless flying for moving people is quite aways away. Technology and regulation wise.

The AW609, like the V22 Ospray is NOT a helicopter. It's an airplane. A helicopter's blades lead / lag (horizontally forward and aft), and flap (vertically up and down). Which those propeller-driven tuna cans don't. Just because it can do VTOL doesn't make it a helicopter ffs! Or wait, does that mean the Harrier and F22 and F35 are also helicopters? And that Nexus monstrosity is barely an aircraft, let alone a helicopter. SMH get it right please.
@gazelam19733 жыл бұрын
The Marines and their naval aviators DO NOT refer to the V-22 as an "airplane", so why should we? They DO NOT refer to it as a helicopter either. Rather it is in a class of its own....referred to my the Marines as "Powered Lift" aircraft category. It literally does both types of flying. When the engine nacelles are configured in the vertical position it behaves just like a helicopter, when the nacelles transition to the horizontal position, it flies like a traditional fixed wing turboprop aircraft. But the AW609 & V-22 are much more closely related to the Rotor Class family of aircraft because they CAN NOT take off or land on airport runways, like traditional fixed-wing aircraft do. The ONLY WAY to for these aircraft to get airborne is in the vertical configuration. So that is why you'll always see them categorized with helicopters.
@kwzat3 жыл бұрын
@@gazelam1973 Look at the title of this video. It says, very clearly "Top 10 Luxury Helicopters for Business or Private Use". The video features the V22 Osprey. The V22 is NOT a helicopter. Marines and their naval aviators. What the hell does that mean? Who cares what the Marines or Navy thinks / says or calls stuff. They don't know their ass from their elbows most days. (And you meant Navy right? Big difference between the Marines and the Navy. Go learn). Seriously. People like you really frustrate me. You are talking straight out of your ass... the V22 takes off from a runway very easily. They do it all day long. Next time you're in California, go rent a car, drive east out of San Diego until you hit a horrible place called El Centro. Go park your car next to the Imperial Airport runway and watch them take off and land all day long. From runways. Real life straight flat runways. The kind airplanes land on. The V22 is not a helicopter. I don't care what you think stuff may or may not be more closely related to. You are talking utter rubbish.
