Great list, Darcy! I haven’t heard a good chunk of these albums, so, for me, this list is more like a shopping list. Haha. I will say INVINCIBLE SHIELD is definitely a huge favorite of mine this year, as is THE STYGIAN ROSE! And that Bewitcher album was my second most anticipated album of 2024. Did not disappoint! I’m not going to do a top 10 (or 11, which will be my case going forward) this year. Instead, I’m going to do a video of just the stuff I got in 2024. Perhaps I’ll do a proper Top 11 at the end of next year.

I don't have enough albums to make a top 5 this year, lol. Good to see you still flying a flag for the old-timers, a lot of those bands I stopped collecting new releases from a long time ago - I just find myself going back to the 80s releases so they'd just gather dust. Saxon was a must have for me this year and I'm sure I'll get around to JP sooner or later. Always great to see what you've picked up!

Hey Darcy, always nice to hear the year end lists. We have some in common. Loved the Priest album. Flotsam and Jetsam was fantastic too. Enjoyed the Saxon but it would be outside my top albums. Wasn't too enthralled with the Kerry King, Accept or Bruce's releases. My album of the year is Unleash the Archers, Phantoma. It was a grower for me, but i enjoy it more with each listen. The rest of my list has a mix of death, black, hardcore and melodeath. The Blood Incantation has really grown on me. Hoping next year will bring some great old school thrash from Testament, Anthrax and Death Angel. And i am really hoping to see Anthrax in concert. Ive seen a ton of bands but never Anthrax.

Solid list there Darcy. A year for the legacy acts I think, a lot them putting out very strong albums. Quite a lot on your list I've yet to pick up actually, I've given most of them a listen though. Satan and Traveler are both worth picking up I'd say, even if it's just on CD. My favorite album is Amethyst - Throw down the gauntlet. I'd think it'll be right up your street if you've not heard it.

This is always a strange time of the year for me. In my mind I only bought 3 or 4 new releases but when I watch those year end list videos I realize it was way more, hahaha... I could even make out a top 10. My plan for 2025 was not getting any new albums... well, a new Sacrifice will be out Jan. 24th. Ok, ok, kick that plan in the bin, hahaha... I had the Atrophy album in the "for sale" pile, listened to it again last week. It´s going nowhere, it´ll stay...

Well your no 1 and 2 are actually the only 2024 releases I got this year and I actually picked up invincible shield used and hellfire was a birthday present from my step daughter I'm very much the 2nd hand cd collector it's so much easier on the pocket but I still got a load of cool albums this year regardless cheers darcy!

I even ended up taking my 9 year old to see them live. He's always walking around the house singing Hail To The Hordes and Violent Revolution. I do like the new Anciients album Beyond The Reach Of The Sun.

Hi Darcy! For me the year 2024 comes faster than the speed of light to the end. Every year faster. But i think we have some real pearls released in the year 2024. Judas Priest and Saxon are no brainers yes. Very good Jobs from the old Gods. For me is the Album of the year is DEMONs Invincible. Great Album. I never thought they can made a so damned good Album in their later Days. And a Band from Sweden has made the underground Allbum of the Year: Helvetets Port with Warlords. The Rock Album of the Year for me made Quireboys with Wardour Street I like the the new Album of Ignitor Horns and Hammmers and it was a Top Favorit of my Underground Album of the Year.... You missed out Lords Of Black's 'Mechanics Of Predacity' which is a fantastic album. Judas Priest and Saxon are certainly great albums. I was a little disappointed with the Bruce Dickinson one, but it's ok. I have to check out that Accept one I think.

It was absolutely amazing seeing both the invincible shield tour and hell, fire and Damnation tour in the same night. It was the first time I've seen priest and second time I've seen Saxon. Already got tickets booked to see Priest next year on the painkiller 35th anniversary tour and Saxon on the wheels of steel 45th anniversary tour later next year. Both of those on top of seeing maiden on the 50th anniversary tour is going to be incredible. Best year for I reckon
