I reconfigured the space below that held the tire by fabricating a steel plate to hold two Nato petrol cans. They don't leak. No drilling into the body as the holes were already there for two Unistrut hinges. The cans (when full) are the same weight as the tire and they just fit the space. Tire now rides on a swing away carrier on the rear bumper (custom bumper). Have several occasions to need extra petrol on long desert runs. The larger tires I installed on the LR did no longer fit the below spare tire space. Enjoyed your video, thanks.

The first bit, bout the 18" on the D4 - doesn't always work either. I bought some 18"s for my D4, but the calliper was catching the back of the wheel and it didn't fit, so I sold them. Later found out, if you fit 25mm spacers or grind off some of the back of the calliper (not my pref at all!), they should fit. Also found out that BMW 'X'-range of 18"s fit the Disco's without mods, so going to try that!

Could you with some trimming fit a 35" tire?
@matthewadby10774 жыл бұрын
My understanding is it is very difficult, as you are limited by the chassis. You can permanently raise the suspension, but then still have restricted turning circle.
@mikeb534 жыл бұрын
I can tell you fairly safely due to my own research on the Disco 4 that no you can't. 32" is the absolute end of it and even then you will get rubbing and should fit lock stops to prevent you going to full lock. To fit 35's... that's going to take a lot more effort and modification to happen.
