Found your videos this year, really have enjoyed following along and actually started ATM10 after you started your server videos. Only modpack that I truly enjoyed that wasn’t on your top 10 is Project Architect 2, have played and replayed it way too much, even attempted to record some videos but got a long way to go before I think I’m ready to edit in a way that doesn’t make it look horrible lol

I didn't fully finish Maul the Odds and Uncharted Explorations, but it sure was one hell of a fun (and most importantly UNIQUE) experience. Even more so doing it at the same time as you😁A little bit like playing together! Just this dynamic of both finding out about new things from your videos, as well as sharing the things you didn't yet know that I found, to just help out each other back and forth, was really fun!😁 Happy New Year to you Pilpoh! @@Pilpoh I already watched it and lowkey love the unique touch to it! Think I might give it a spin too😁I just love this whole concept of entirely changing the way you play/progress! It's so cool to see something that hasn't been utilized in other packs before. I love them all, but there is just some special excitement about the cases like those 3 mentioned packs! Do you know if SkyFactory 5 is finished or still actively worked on? Edit: I went back to the video and double checked. You did indeed say it's an experimental pack and in beta right now😁

There’s a theme here that matches my own feelings. What originally drew me to Vault Hunters (and now the Wold’s Vaults spin-off pack) was the combination of gradual unlock of mods (starting with just vanilla), and the sense that there was a gameplay reason to build farms and automation (ironically vault hunters altar requirements have been reduced so much this is less the case now). This is also the case with terrafirmacraft based packs in a way, and skyblocks. The next big hit of a mod pack will likely build off these aspects, as it gives structure and a sense of progression without being overwhelmed. Personally, I also enjoy skyblocks not just for the sense of progression, but how they solve (or rather avoid) the singular big issue with procedurally generated worlds - finding somewhere aesthetically pleasing to build, and encouraging developing your own farms rather than just endlessly exploring for resources. I wonder if this can be adequately addressed outside of skyblock - in some respects terrafirmacraft does, simply through the sheer effort needed for anything and the survival importance of landscape features.

You read my mind and then put it into words that are way more articulate than I could ever come up with 😆 I've been thinking about doing the PilpPack for a while, have a ton of ideas for it none of which really lead back to the Mods Not Included idea. I'll keep everyone posted on the PilpPack as it progresses, so far we have a prototype but its no where near what i would like!

Refined Storage 2 is in development and it's a re-work from the ground up. I wouldn't discount it on servers until it comes out.

Some notable packs not mentioned: craftoria, craft to exile 2, FTB evolution, enigmatica 10, and TNP limitless 8. Nothing wrong with your list… but uh… it’s mostly the atm team. I completely agree about your number ten… vault hunters appeals to a lot of people, I am not one of them.

I tried FTB Evo but wasn't that interested if I'm honest, no beef with the pack, It just felt very samey to other packs I was playing if you know what i mean... Good picks though! Craftopia is the same as Evo from what i saw from Chosens playthrough, it was very similar to ATM 🤔

@ FTB evolution is… evolving. I feel like Alfred had a vague concept and now Saereth is going to make it work. Saereth always does a good job so… give it time. The mods in craftoria have some overlap but then again what kitchen sink pack doesn’t? TNP and enigmatica have a slightly different approach than atm and a lot of people like them for those. Your mileage may vary.

I'm a little curious about the Spark mod in regards to checking mod's performance, because after hearing multiple times that AE is so much better for all the logistics in terms of performance and that SFM is supposedly laggy I decided to just make a quick superflat creative world and make 2 setups with 40 max hives full of max bees and max upgrades and 30 centrifuges. One was taken care of by SFM and the other by AE (where I made sure not to loop any cables etc). Observable obviously didn't show anything for AE, however running Spark for 5min and sorting by the mods it showed me that AE was taking 240+ ms while SFM was taking only 4ms. Even assuming that I did mess up something with AE and it could be 2x lower it would still be 30x more than SFM. I'm not saying "AE bad", but I do wonder where this "SFM bad" comes from other than "Observable shows numbers = bad". 🤔

SFM is decent for us/t if nothing goes wrong... if there is something that is backing up, waiting to go to another inventory SFM will spike, I had mine go up past like 45s at one point! AE2 has a bunch of coding choices that should be the standard but don't seem to be adopted by other modders. The example I always use is the acceleration cards, if used in an import bus for example it will increase the amount of items collected per operation instead of increasing the number of operations. Speed upgrades from RS for example will make the importer do more things per seconds which impacts performance especially if you the addons that make it do a ton of things per tick, that breaks servers!!! 😉

Ive been playing 1.7.10 infinity evolved again gotta say its like a completely different game with the old style spam combat, its a great refresher makes you appreciate where modded is now. Only thing i really miss now is thaumcraft from that time.

hmm dunno how i feel about ae2 like hmm i like cables, skystone and skystone dust looks awesome. other than that Refined storage just way better.

Depends on the situation 🤔 refined storage isn't coded for servers very well so if you are playing multiplayer it can cause issues. AE2 as I said has a larger learning curve but over all seems to be more powerful with some of the things it can do. Addons make it even better 😁 1.21.1 has been the time of the AE2 addon!
