Drag race had been losing steam since season 7 tbh. Except All Stars, I think season 12 is the best since season 6. The difference is that in this season, unlike the previous ones, the show focused on talent and not on drama.

I put the first episode of this season on at my boyfriend's house so I could watch it while he was doing a workout, but instead he sat down to watch it with me out of curiousity. The next week he was like "so... You're watching drag race at my house again right?" And for the rest of the season he'd be the one reminding me about coming over to watch it together 😂 I was so happy a straight male appreciated it so much. It truly was an amazing season for learning and appreciating different forms of drag.

Malachi Owens I mean is it? They definitely had one of the most, if not the most talented cast, but they really only gave 3 queens a chance, it didn’t feel like much of a competition because queens were robbed of wins and wrongfully put in the bottom. We really coulda had something better if the producers weren’t so obsessed with creating front runners. We ended up with a season where gigi and sherry were saved from lipsyncing several times. Zero double wins that coulda given other queens a leg up and made it more of a competition. Queens losing faith in their own abilities because of their treatment and only given any praise when they play into a meme RuPaul creates for them.
