I’m a Last Light backer. I have zero problem with them selling limited copies at the convention before I receive mine. Small/new companies need the marketing. I do have a small problem with retail releases (Ares Expedition, I’m looking at you) when the “why back now” section of the campaign page promises backers will get it first (I don’t recall whether Ares had that - I seem to recall that they did. Be upfront that you might need to sell at a convention, explain why, and do what you need to do.

I already played Federation, Barcelona and Thunder Road. Both are great. Con for Barcelona is that is very AP pron, and for Thunder Road, con is that retail version feels like 50% of the game Federation is amazing

Good list, but to be clear, Fox Experiment will not be there. They were going to have retail copies available but changed their mind and are waiting to release it after Kickstarter backers get their copy in September/October.

It looks like Lorcana has a tournament schedule for GEN CON (sold out) where you get the starter plus booster. So maybe that is all that is available?

Interesting list but heads up, The FoX Experiment was prob the worst game I played last year (a prototype at a DT event)... The game is so solitaire it is actually multiplayer repellent... You can't follow what anyone is doing, no one cares, lots of micro movements in your turn, it should have been a solo PC game.

I tried the fox experiment at gen con last year and loved it. I'm curious if you also hated the solitaire nature of Wingspan?

Due to the use of the goals each round and paying attention to what other people are doing with the feeder, I do not find Wingspan to simply be a solitaire game.

@@thesladeification It’s been a while but found WS to be an OK game, not even sure why now… Problem is these games where your turn is made of multiple micro movements, you could totally be cheating and no one will notice or audit… I dont want to be simply sharing a table with people that happen to be trying to solve the same but their own individual puzzle.
