Thanks for including Shortwood, a ground I have visited several times...it really is a lovely place to watch a game of football...on my first visit they served tea in real mugs that you just left at the turnstile on the way out, the next time I watched the game sat on a wooden fence at the top of the slope behind the goal. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Haha that’s fantastic! You don’t get that at many grounds now.

Been to the top 2 grounds. Prescot Cables' ground also had this tiger mural on a wall behind the turnstiles when you walk in, which is a nice touch.

Had a nightmare last season at Matlock FC vs Radcliffe FC ( my team ) rained all day, grey skies, pitch was a bog, we tried to play our usual passing game 🤦🏼♂️ big mistake, Matlock adapted to conditions so much better than us and won 4 - 0, the ground and views were decent despite the conditions

Just wondering if you've been to Cossham Street ? Which is the village I grew up in , Mangotsfield near Bristol ! Cossham Street is the home of Mangotsfield United ! They play in the Hellenic League Premier Division , Last time I went there it was quite a nice little ground , where the main stand ( not sure the name of it ) was quite new at that time !

I haven’t been there, I’ll look it up and may have to visit!

Great video but a slight clarification to the St Albans tree. It was actually listed/protected, which mean the club couldn't remove it which meant they couldn't get promoted. However there was a big storm a few years later and it "blew down". I put it like that as whilst officially it did genuinely get blown down, there have been rumours that somebody at the club made sure it was down the day after the storm! Nobody really knows for sure. But it went and St Albans were able to go up in 2006 for their one season in the Conference National. The ground can't really be improved by the club beyond painting and general upkeep as they don't own it, as you say it forms part of the park so all of it is council owned. The club have been looking into moving into the green belt near St Albans for years but nothing viable has come of it yet.

Ah wow, thank you for letting me know - that’s an interesting story! I can see why they would’ve wanted it down.

Again…shit stadiums in beautiful surroundings. It’s not the stadium that is beautiful…
