I've worked in some form of construction all my life, and have worn boots by several manufacturers. My last three pairs have been different Keen models. When it comes to the combination of comfort and durability, I haven't found any brand that's better. I will have to say, that the most comfortable work boot I have ever worn was the Timberland Titan, though. Those things were more comfortable than my tennis shoes, right out of the box. The only problem was that they had soft soles and soft leather. They weren't the best boots for kicking a shovel, or for durability over the long haul, though. But damn......they were so comfortable. My wife actually read about them in a Modern Science magazine saying that they were the worlds most comfortable work boots. That's how I even decided to try them.

@@ianalderson5133 I work in road construction and maintenance in a mountain area that averages almost 70 inches of rain per year. We do everything from paving to culvert installs, to roadside brushing. My boots get beat up and get wet a lot through the winter. The things that make the Titans so comfortable are also the things that don't allow them to hold up for very long in more extreme conditions......at least in my experience. I went through a pair a year. I kept buying them for a while, because of the comfort, though. I still haven't found any boot as comfortable as them.

Wolverine Dura Shock waterproof for me- all of this is subjective - meaning what surface are you working on? Me - concrete mostly - then mud. A trick is this - most companies in soles will where out before the boots will. Buy the factory insoles and put them in - they do make a difference . Also- the sales people were leaving out a couple of things: price and weight. If you are new to the work boot world do yourself a favor and buy good work boots - if the company you work for says steel toe - buy steel toe - some boots do not have steel toes in them - they are lighter. Also - a company demands you get steel toe boots for your work so they will give you like $85.00 for them. Unless you are completely broke - do yourself and your feet a favor and buy better boots - after like 2 weeks of wearing Wal Mart boots your feet and legs will start hurting.
