You should post the rule about no pre-spinning the ball before you hit it on the serve. There are a few here who dont understand the rule or misinterpreted it. Keep up the great vids.

Do you poach on backhand side? I’m confident back/fore and like to selectively poach if my partner is not coming up to line. I’ve had tennis player argue against it since it would have been his forehand. But my thinking is the surprise element and taking out of air is better in some cases.

A poaching smash is a better percentage shot than not, whether it’s forehand or backhand. Take it if you can. ALW does it often even with BJ as her partner when they’re back and she’s front.

This is a great question. Because if you step into the nvz during regular dinking or volley play and you step out and reestablish yourself, you're okay. However, by the nature of the erne you probably won't have time to set/split step outside the nvz. It happens too quickly.

Excellent tips, Connor! Not sure how to request this, but.... I tend to partner well with most players. But there are some players with whom I simply do not "click" as a partner. Often I can figure out how to be a good partner, but the score is already 2-7 by the time I get that figured out. How do you learn how to partner well with people? And what do you look for in choosing a partner -- for, say, a tournament?

@Muggashyte only if a person spins the ball before they serve it, is it illegal. If they simply drop it and hit a spin Serve it is legal. Send me the rules to show that a spin serve is illegal. Here is what I found supporting the pre-spin being banned. Show me that a spin Serve with no pre-spin from one is illegal. 2023, the updated USA Pickleball rule book will forbid applying any spin or manipulation of the ball from one hand, prior to striking it with the paddle for the serve.Jan 10, 2023

I don’t owe you any lookup, I didn’t agree to engage with you at any such requirement. Perhaps you noticed that I’m not the only person who mentioned this? Have you considered that the rule is vague? Moreover, Pickleball has a disturbing trend over hyper competitive boomers. Really not worth the bother. The vibe and community itself is just not inviting. I’m catching that vibe from you as well.

@Muggashyte I will gladly play the game with anybody. However, I have played many tournaments and understand the rules very well. I also understand when they make rule changes and specifically what the changes are. I have shared the rule about spin serve. It was based on the chainsaw serve and removing it from competition. You can say whatever you want and believe what you want, but like I said I play tournaments and use the spin serve about 40% of the time. I used to do the chainsaw, but can no longer do it because of the rule change. Whether you want to go look it up or not, I live with these rules and I know them well. You posted so you put out that you want to be engaged. If you can't handle the engagement, don't post. Lastly the other folks who are going on about #8 being illegal don't understand what they are talking about or are misinterpreting the rules. Zero zero start...

Also the screwball serve has been banned because PPA made a new rule which means you are not allowed to put spin on a serve

no, you can not PRE spin your serves, as long as your toss had no spin the serve can still use spin on the shot itself.

The screwball serve HAS NOT BEEN banned. Only pre-spin has been banned. You can spin all you want using only your paddle.

Ngl, I was pretty much rolling my eyes for a lot of the shots until number 2. The crouching overheads. I see so many people trying to smash the ball when it’s too far out in front or too low and straight into the net. BEND THE KNEEEEEES
