land tax == land drop consistency and deck thinning. You don't get land screwed and you don't get land flooded. For one mana. its insane at least in the casual commander i play.

Land Tax is great in any deck because it means thinning your deck out and getting your land drops in. Also, it's great because you can just discard the additional lands at your endstep, filling your graveyard for a Splendid Reclamation later in the game, or if you have Crucible of Worlds

Why don't you mention Land Tax was uncommon in Legends and reprinted as Rare in 4th Edition? You mentioned all the printings on all the other cards and I really like that.

Nah, land tax is insane even if you don’t play the lands. You’re thinning out your deck by 3 cards each turn! This means you’ll draw cards you want to hit more often rather than a dead draw on land. Plus it’s white ramp. Nearly an auto include in any mono white commander deck.

It's not ramp, though. Ramp is actually going ahead of curve in terms of mana production and Land Tax doesn't do that. Unironically, the decks that actually wants Land Tax type effects are decks that CAN cheat them out into play, which green landfall decks are really good at (most of them being Simic, and therefore lacking white). The strengths of the card is that you can effectively guarantee you're not missing land drops for the rest of the game, and thinning the deck out as you said is good in this case, considering it grabs you 3 lands at a time. It's just an overall good card for decks that lack consistent card draw to hit their land drops when needed, but it doesn't break the "rules" of curve. EDIT: It's good card quality assurance, but it isn't ramp. So don't cut ramp for this card!

@@xxxzeroxxx8406 Not missing a land drop is ramp in mono white. Card draw and ramp / land drops in general are an issue for mono white decks. So sure yeah it’s not getting ahead on land but that’s not what I meant by ramp. Consistency is important especially in white that struggles with it and lad tax is a big remedy for that.

I think you may be a little off the mark on how much some of these may fall. The prices you put are already cut down. Rhystic was about 60 before, so now if you say half its going for 30. Doubling Season was like above 80, now its 40 and I think it will stay that way
