I feel like Sauvage nailed (and pioneered) the idea of an “Elixir” by making something insanely strong and concentrated, to the degree rarely if ever seen in designer fragrances. Love the old school sensibilities as well. On the flip side, most of these other brands seem to have just made a Parfum style flanker, slapped “Elixir” on the bottle and charged a fortune for it. I feel like they really missed the whole point of what Sauvage Elixir actually was…

While I agree that that can be said about many of the various Elixir flankers, you'll have a hard time convincing me that Hugo Boss just stepped up the concentration of Boss Bottled and then marketed it as an Elixir. That was a whole other direction for that line

Definitely JPG !! I got it for my grandson last Christmas! It was his pick ! Finally found the 4.2 ounce at Sabina in Spain ! Back then it was 100.00 plus 20. 00 shipping to USA. Bought early fall already hard to find in November! Beautiful bottle too ! Love the gold !

1 million elixir is the vanilla perfume I have been looking for since I started learning about fragrance and I'm glad I finally found it. It's kind of the vanilla I often smell in flavoring and I love Vanilla flavor in drink and food but when I started collecting some vanilla base perfumes, they smelled different from my expectation that even it made me once hated vanilla dominant perfume (eros, Mercedes club black)

I blindbought Boss bottle Elixir from Macy's online. I got it and it reminded me D&G one Royal night. Which i already have. End up returning Boss. Jean paul gaultier le male elixir i bought from Macy's when it cane out 4.2 for $120. Price went up. Also bought two bottles of Dior sauvage elixir bcz they might reformulate soon.

The Boss Bottled Elixir is a full-on clone of Sauvage Elixir (without the licorice), which is why you liked it so much lol

Just a quick question what were the versatilities on seasons on the top 3? As a side note I hope they come out with a summer time elixir like a light blue elixir, I personally live in the high heat but don t have a go to banger except light blue forever and the ocassional prada luna rosa ocean edt I mix in.

Boss Bottled Elixir is the far and above winner for me. Sauvage Elixir smells delightful, but there's no situation I can think of that necessitates that level of performance

I was so looking forward to Y Elixir and went to Macys Department store in NYC to smell it and I was like WHAT? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME? AND $180? NO WAY. So underwhelmed and IMO so not worth it and I have an over 100 bottle collection and 3 of the 10 elixirs on this top 10. I have Clones, Designers and Niche and Y Elixir was a letdown that to be honest, even FREE I wouldnt be interested in owning it. That being said, I gotta try that Boss Bottled. Thanks Ash. Bought the Sauvage elixir 100ml two weeks ago and performance is really not what it used to be when it was released. It is less potent and sweet. It lacks the smokiness of the initial batches. Regret buying it. How is the performance? Does it need macerating? Thank you.

In my personal opinion my all time favorite fragrance and elixir will have to be invictus victory elixir, then Gucci guilty elixir and 1 million elixir, im fortunate enough to have all of them and i love them.

Personally wasn't a fan of any of the Sauvage line after testing the EDT and EDP on both skin and paper.. Found it to be too generic and unimpressive - till you recommended the elixer line. OMFG! What a welcome iteration of the line?! It's $355 (per100ml) here in Australia, but I'm grabbing it regardless. Such a gorgeous and addictive scent!

One thing I will disagree with - YSL Y Elixir. I tried this & it lasted much longer than the others in the line. In fact my cousin has this. He wears it all the time, not a lot of sprays, and it is easily detectable & smells amazing. The sillage is outstanding. In my experience, this performs much better than the other Ys - lasting at least 8-10 hours. He told me he's been getting compliments too! It's not Sauvage Elixir in that it doesn't deviate too much from the rest of the line - but Y Elixir is dare I say, UNDERRATED. Great video & list though!

I have both le male elixer and Suvage elixer, and i gotta give it to dior, lasts for days, on my clothes, even after a wash, rubs off on my seat belt. Le male is great it's sweet its intimate but definitely not as catching as dior

Orange aquatic? There’s only 4 notes lavender geranium frankincense and Oud. I don’t get that at all. It was the only one in store that I thought was dark and mysterious. But everyone’s skin is different and may come off different to each.

Le Mâle Elixir is nice enough but to me just another one of many sugary sweet modern vanilla scents, then again, the same can be said for most of these 'Elixirs' (at least the Gucci attempted something a little bit different nothing too amazing, especially for the price!). Most also feel like cash grabs at a time when even standard designer fragrances are overpriced!

I only own three of those, but they are the top 3 here. I have smelled many of the others but not all. I was underwhelmed with Y Elixir as well. I don’t think it deserves the Elixir moniker. It is okay, but Le Parfum is so much better. :)

Sauvage Elixir is so overrated to me. I bought it, returned it. Then everyone told me I was crazy, so I went to the store and sprayed a sample on myself again, but couldn’t wait to wash it off.

Gucci Guilty Elixir is not only my favourite Elixir but one of my favourites of all time - it was love at first sniff. It gets compared to Reflection Man but to me Reflection Man, is the fresher version but is a bit more simple and designer-esque, and Reflection 45 doesn't even come close lol (doesn't project at all and has afeaux leathery feel to it)
