Most Time of an accident its not the Power of your bike which will be the problem, its the fault of the other drivers around you.Because they think you are not this fast and put you in risky situations which can end badly for you, if you react wrong.

There not too bad. There reliability has come very very far since Audi took them over. Valve adjustment are at 15k to 18k now with timing chains and wet clutches. The unfortunate part is on my 899 i cant find a 525 pitch chain and sprocket set up for longer lifespan and tires are not that longevity. Other than that you can bulletproof them a little further.

I'm not even certain why Ducati sticks with that desmodromic valve system. Its just a complicated mess that costs a fortune to maintain. I certainly understand why they used it 30 years ago when valve springs and materials weren't as good. Today, lots of bikes achieve similar RPM limits without any desmodromic valve system. It seems like they could improve the reliability and service interval by switching over to a conventional valve system.
@lancedooley7558
@lancedooley7558 5 жыл бұрын
@@stevewhite6252 they use it because even the newer bikes still have whats called valve spin on the springs. Still a good system and the sounds are awesome.
@stevewhite6252
@stevewhite6252 5 жыл бұрын
@@lancedooley7558 But what advantages does it offer as compared to equivalent bikes? Max RPM is no higher. Power is no better. Service intervals are worse. Engine life is no better. Cost is higher. More complex. Less reliable. All that I see are disadvantages. As I stated earlier, 40 years ago it may have been a good idea but not today. If it is such a good idea why is Ducati the only manufacturer using it whether it be motorcycles or cars? By the way, the sound of the bike has nothing to do with having a desmodromic valve system.

The main thing to remember here though is that almost no one is good enough to extract all the performance from any of these bikes besides bullshit drag racing. Only a professional rider, or someone whose been in the Advanced group on track days for years, can truly take advantage of these bikes. Even the cheaper Suzuki is more than fast enough for 99.9% of riders.

Nah winglets are fine and if you're deeply interested in technical mechanical advancements on a high scale you have more capability to understand simply why and will like them (remember at some point cars didn't have canards wings etc and someone had to start it now everyone is all over that stuff ;))
@Akintich
@Akintich 5 жыл бұрын
Winglets - totally relevant for our lord and savior Rossi... completely irrelevant for anyone doing less than one, nay even 100, track day(s) per year. They just make you look like even more of a try-hard on that $20+k bike. Aerodynamic improvements on cars are a bit more relevant because cars are much more aerodynamically efficient, their shape isn't altered by some 6'3" dude with a go-pro and huge backpack sitting on top of it and most importantly it takes MUCH LESS skill to feel those benefits. With that said it's just as superfluous in a car, most people wouldn't be able to pass a professional race car driver if they were driving a 720S while the pro was in a 10 year old 911 (assuming both had modern tires and stuff).
@factoryrider9537
@factoryrider9537 5 жыл бұрын
@@Akintich unfortunately aerodynamics are incredibly important on motorcycles in general exactly because they are not as efficient as cars, that being mentioned you feel the aerodynamic effects at quite slow speed already and anyone who wants some more performance (wether they only ride on the street and or on the track) is going to want it. Form follows function.

I will be 69 years old in another 5 weeks. I currently ride a Kawa 1000 cc for the past 2 years. Prior to moving here, I lived in S.F Bay Area for 38 years. The last bike I owned there was a 2008 Kawa ZX-14 from 2008 through 20015. Way more power than anybody ever really needs. I am 6 ft. 3 in. and 212 lbs. Most people in CA who bought this model of bike in CA ended up in a coffin in short order. I have been riding MC's legally and continuously since 1968. My first bike was a 1939 Harley, side-valve 80 (cubic inches) I bought from a farmer in PA. I'd rather die while I am living than be alive while I am dead. Stay healthy guys. 3/6/19

Yes but, in the old times one just bought the bike and was able to go over 320km/h. Nowdays you need to update and modify a few things in order to obtain what was stock in the years 1999 - 2001. And the bikes were priced under 13.000$.
@stevenrobino6717
@stevenrobino6717 5 жыл бұрын
Its because government restricts everything, thats why the new motorcycles always taps at 300kph. So the game change, its how fast can you go to 300kph. If you reflash their ecu these can reach 380kph to even 400kph in no time, specially the v4r.

Ok Yammie, I have been an very long time watcher but i haven't subscribed till maybe last year. I am one of those guys that has always dreamed of having a bike but didn't get one till last year. Which is an 86 Honda Shadow vt700 that I could only afford because it was 500 bucks( I have a long term GF and 3 kids so they come first). With this bike it was well taken care of and I absolutely love it!! The open road is amazing and I am so glad I was able to do this. Among a lot of resistance of the family that I have is the only reason why I got one so late. I only have my permit and working on my license because I want to prove to my family that you can be responsible and absolutely enjoy riding a bike since I have been dreaming about since I was kid and go yelled at for so long that they are too dangerous. I thought about entering a giveaway so many times but didn't do it till today. Keep the good content up I enjoy it!!! If I every win a giveaway I would by all means collaborate and give love to the channel as much as needed. Keep up the good content!!
