I'm really surprised watching The Batman in theatre. Its experience felt so immersive and realistic. BGM and Cinematography of this movie was amazing. I watched it in 2D in a theatre and its experience was far better than any 3D experience of other big budget superhero movies. Action scenes (even it's less) of this film were mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, felt so realistic man. It's 9.8/10 for me. So excited for Sequel.

It has the aspects that the other Batman movies tend to skim over, namely, the detective stuff. There's a reason why the comics' version of Ra's Al Ghul almost always refer to Batman as "detective".

Unbreakable I think is promising but he just fell into the surprise twist style from there. Signs was a cinematic experience but again the twist now I'm not so sure of. The Village another promising film but falls flat. Not seen Avatar The Last Airbender I know some things.......

The Batman is definitely the most realistic superhero movie out there. It's also the best batman movie I have seen. I really hope they make a sequel with an even crasier villain than Riddler. My bet is in Hush as the next villain.

Up until Bernthals casting for Frank Castle, Thomas Jane was by far the best actor to play Frank. Dirty Laundry is what the film should have been, the script for Jane's Punisher was trash in my opinion, if the script was better I feel like the film could have been so much better. Season 2 of Daredevil, finally gave us the punisher we deserved.

I am probably showing my age, but you missed a strong entry for this list. "Hero at Large" (1980) starred John Ritter as an actor playing a superhero at promotional events actually performs a heroic act which then leads to his acting like an actual superhero. Well worth seeing and definitely grounded in reality.

Thomas Jane's portrayal of the punisher is my favorite version of the iconic vigilante/hero character. I watch it quite a bit but John Travolta has never been a good villain in any of his movies except for pulp fiction. The only thing that I liked in the batman movie was the riddler.

I know that this might not fit in this category but there was a movie called Old superheroes must die. The movie actually depicts that all the heroes lost their powers and has to stop a madman from killing innocent civilians but each hero dies.

Yes, a suit where a guy even when wearing bulletproof armor nearly gets knocked out by a single shotgun blast and hurt numerous times by bullets is pretty realistic. As for the jumping thing, his momentum was stopped before he hit anything, so it makes sense why he was relatively okay

Batman also hit his chest when he made impact with the bridge. The movie and novel make it very clear that the armor he wears is something that doesn't exist in the real world and is far more durable. Outside of that though, everything we see is pretty realistic.

One problem with SUPER's realism is that Ellen Page's character has a thing for Rainn Wilson - I forget whether the actor had come out by that time, but I imagine it would have been an encouragement for her to do so, since behind-the-cameras would then be less likely to deem her plausible in a hetero screen relationship, and she wouldn't be paired off with men for whom she was far too beautiful?

Of course these marvel superhero movies are not real. But what makes us relate to the Characters is the realization of the script, the writing, the subject matter and real life experiences that they go through. We can relate to it better if it has that certain realism to it. We can identify with the character better . The struggle and the pain that they go through / adversity. That's what makes the story better. Wonder W 2 was a Looney tune movie made for 5 yr olds. That's why it was so bad. Big difference... ✌️

There is one thing that I find unrealistic about Iron Man: a normal human would die in that suit the first time it crashes into the ground or a building. And Iron Man crashes a lot in those movies. No matter how hard the suit’s exterior is, the insides are still human, and there are only so many G’s the human body can tolerate before bones break and organs rupture.
