Probably won't happen because it's almost certain the 3rd (likely final) season will be about solo chars again, and it won't be cool to use 3 slots for the Sports team. Their return had to have happened in season 1.

@@aegaeon1482 Nameless & K9999/Krohnen can coexist. Nameless can continue from the unofficial KOFAS story of destroying Deimos and himself, but he lives on. Vice and Mature would be at odds with Goenitz, confronting them for being too soft with Iori. Hotaru would chase Gato as usual, but if they introduce Gato and Hotaru's father (known as Geki Kibao in MOTW2) in KOFXV, it would bring a fresh new perspective that could be continued in COTW. American Sports Team needs a break, and finally join in the cast. And probably they could join in as the foil to the New Faces Team and ironically be the pain in the butt for the Hakkesshu. Krauser could come back to antagonize Geese and possibly be a way for Luong and Hein to renew their plans of putting Geese down; but what if Rock steps up and tells them NO?

At this point of KOF 15 history it must invest in the hottest picks in order to make an impression at all, in a time most attentions are focused in other games. Also there are high chances this is going to be the last season and that its going to be solo chars again. So Kensou, Choi, Chang and Xanadu are not types that the devs should be messing with... first because they are not famous enough to deserve a place in a list of solo dlc chars, and secondly because they are returning chars from the previous game's initial roster. And Todoh, Lee and Eiji are not as well known to deserve that place. I even wanted Eiji and Lee but its practically impossible.

For me, you know what would be really cheeky for them to do? Make the usual "okay here's the new character in KoF for the fans!" Example, Kensou, then they release another character but it's Shen this time. People might think, "oh cool that's interesting" and then release their 3rd dlc character all the while during the last bits of the 3rd character trailer, they form a team (e.g. Kensou/Shen/??? for Team Shanghai or smth) That also benefits some of the lore nerds since most dlc people are just that, they get their own slice of life to shine but for the 3 dlc characters to be related and form a team like it's an individual release will blow my mind

​@@carlosaugusto9821 IMO, we're far along the DLC that introducing this team in Season 3 would be the shake up to get people talking like Negan from The Walking Dead in Tekken 7, (and Twinkle Star Sprite fans to get a nod about hopefully getting a modern release of that game with online play.) If not the wider audience (espically those in SF and Tekken), then I say the other SNK folks who's been diving in Arcade Archives re-releases and Twinkle Star Sprites fans. Of course, you're right, this team would be kinda off putting, all the more reason SNK is to finish off the potentially last season strong.

I would like to go beyond, and I would prefer to include some fighters from other forgotten franchaises instead uniquely KOF Characters, such as Hayate, Mezu, Rosa or King Leo (from Kizuna Encounter); Fuuma, Ryoko, Rasputín or Erick (from World héroes), Kaede, Akari, Santetzu or Amano (from Last Blade) and Pepe, Keith Wayne and Annie (from Rage of Dragons/Power Instinct). First, answering your question (I think everyone sides with me) I'd like the DLC season 3 to be team based, or at least, duos. It would be great that SNK decided to release, for instance, first DLC consisiting of Vice & Mature, second DLC consisting of May Lee and Jhun Hoon, then the bosses Krizalid and Adel, then the Sports team, to close it with Oswald and Eiji... I don't know, something like that would be just worth it to make everyone happy.

If season 2 was solo, it seems almost impossible that season 3 will be team based. That's an idea that should have been abandoned since the season 2 announcement. Also SNK is busy with other projects right now, unlike the time of the making of KOF 15 and its early stage of dlc production.

YES! I would like to see Kusanagi returning. With his gameplay being based on KOF XIII Kyo, in that game normal Kyo plays like he was in KOF 95, plus having the unique Supers of Kyo-1 and Kyo-2. Many people like to play as "shoto Kyo"

I'd personally keep any and all Fatal Fury/Garou characters to the upcoming Fatal Fury game. I'd also keep Mature, Vice and Daimon for the next game, don't mind them taking a break every now and then and the story makes explicit they're not participating this time. If we're going with six solo characters like the previous season I'd fill three slots with legacy characters who haven't been around in a good while (Adelheid, Kasumi, Jhun) and fill the remaining three slots with SNK characters who haven't been in a mainline KoF before (MI rep, World Heroes rep and Metal Slug rep). Also Krizalid for the boss challenge.

Currently playing '99, and i kinda want to see Krizalid come back, if just for the story potential of it. He believed to be the strongest, that he would be a top-dog in the new future that NEST was going to create, but after being Defetead by K', he was unceremoniously dismissed and executed by NEST, and in his final moment he learned that *he* was the clone. everything he believed was a lie. Even if other NEST member were to be resurected, he probably would oppose them. And he could have interesting dynamics with team K', Kyo, Krohnen and the like. haven't goten to the Ash saga yet, but from what i know of it, i definitely want Adel to reappear, especially now that Rugal is resurected.

Maybe slowly doing the story for characters in other games like GG, Tekken, GBVS, and the like would help you branch out. There could not have been a better time to get your video recommended to me after a while! It's very fitting to have Adel and Vice/Mature take the first two spots on this list because I personally believe that Mature and Vice should be on his team, not on Rugal's, for a multitude of reasons. If it were ever to be revealed that Mature is Adel's mother, it would be an interesting moral dilemma for her when she has to choose to either side with her son or (former?) lover (?), as well as would be interesting to see the possibility of Adel going Omega or Orochi explored. In that vein... would be interesting also to see a third half-blood character to be introduced for a team with Adel and Leona, and it just so happens that the fandom has already come up with one, and she even was introduced to, and warmly received in, some non-canon games.

I think that team-based DLC is the way to go. I like seeing familiar faces, but putting them into interesting team-ups is a big part of the charm of KOF. While all of these are great choices (Go, Adelheid!), I think that something reciprocal from Capcom for Terry and Mai being in SF6 Season 2 is intriguing. Just imagine: The Final Fight team of Haggar, Cody, and Guy, for example. Or Dan Hibiki, Sakura, and Blanka? But crossovers aside, what about a team of Ron, Krizalid, and Glugan (the black lion), the strikers for Original Zero from KOF 2001?

I'm really surprised Choi was not requested in the top 10. Ever since Kof 2002 in tournaments, players have been picking him as a second Iori, because of his speed and combos. He is one of my favorite characters in the Kof series.

I was about to scream my lungs out when I first saw this new video you upload showing Hotaru in the thumbnail and the title 10 most requested characters for KOF XV season 3. I agree how hotaru definitely deserves to be in more appearances especially KOFXV as her involvement with kof only involves with her brother gato which explains her appearance in XI and XV but as a cameo in team garou just like her cameo appearance in team garou in kof XI and how like you said this familiar connection has a layer of sensibility to hotaru's connection since she is gato's probable sister despite not yet confirmed but hints to them that there indeed siblings but she deserves a comeback since i feel she has at least a purpose and a reason just like her inclusion in fatal fury city of the wolves where she'll most likely try to encounter gato and try to bring him back home with her

There's a lot of good options to choose. If I were to decide, I would try to choose character with innovative fighting styles inside the KoF sagas, characters that add some new to the gameplay of this game. Heavy D! and his shadow Stock (SNK tried to do something similar with Nadj's Anticipated Power Stock) Mai or Choi with their high aerial movility Momoko with her unique capoera style, Juhn, May Lee or even Hotaru and Chin with their stance fighting styles... And for boss challenge, I believe Magaki could be a great choice, though I believe they would be make Re-Verse & Otoma-Raga playable characters (obviously after properly nerfing Otoma-Raga) in a Two-Bosse challenge like Saisyu and Omega Rugal in KoF'95. Anyway, let's hope SNK decidess to give us a new Season for KoF XV, because this lack of news it's becoming more than worrying.

Even though i like Mature and Vice, i wont support their return to this game because i dislike how much it's been selling recycled assets from 14 as dlc. And the worst part to me are the dlcs that come from 14's initial roster like Geese and Kim. So Mature and Vice, being a fundamental pair like Ralf and Clark, means automatically to spend 2 slots in recycled assets from KOF 14. And I'm already assuming as obvious that the next season will be about solo chars again.

I recently went back to kof 02 um and tried Seth and instantly fell in love with this character’s playstyle I don’t understand why he’s never a heavily requested character to return either. Especially over American sports team. Seth is way more fun, more layered and cool looking than that whole team is in their entirety lol

As a Maximum Impact fan, thank you for the #7 entry in your list 😊 Any Maximum Impact character would be a great choice. My personal choices are Lien Neville and Alba Meira. I am really curious to see how they would play in a traditional KOF game. And hey, maybe the MI cast can appear in the upcoming Fatal Fury City of the Wolves. SNK could changed their backstories to fit into the FF/AOF timeline. When I played the original KOFMI I thought it was a prequel of Garou MOW because of the setting being Southtown, seeing Rock being a teenager and the alternate costumes of Terry and Ryo.

I think for a lot of the wilder stuff people want (especially non-humanoids), we need a Neo Geo Battle Coliseum 2 to fit them in more naturally instead of shoving them into KoF; KoF’s explanations within the narrative of the later-day non FF/AoF fighters joining are already dubious, so I don’t know if they could handle things like robotic primates, tentacled aliens, magical pixies, or a literal wizard who turns into a humanoid dragon joining in. (And those are just the more popular ones; imagine playing as a car with arms and a face…) Maybe we could get a couple of them as “Team NGBC” to promote the sequel? But people REALLY want a Metal Slug character; hope they don’t mind the possibility of having heroic characters as Boss Challenges. At this point of KOF 15 history the devs must likely invest in the hottest picks in order to make an impression at all, in a time most attentions are focused in other games. Also there are high chances this is going to be the last season and that its going to be solo chars again. Its not the time to pick types that are obscure or fairly less known. And i believe in the use of the surprise factor, but not exactly suprises with obscure chars. Actually i started to believe in the possibility of guest chars... because after everything brought by the 2 seasons so far, there are actually very few remaining hot picks to join the game. And that reasoning is already assuming points such as: there wont be "clones" like Kusanagi or Hwa Jai, there wont be more than 1 boss, and there wont be obscure picks. So in that sense its not hard to conclude that there are less great options left, after a cold and unbiased skimming over the whole KOF "global roster" (i.e all KOF rosters + FF and AOF rosters). Its not hard to imagine 1 or 2 final slots being saved for guests from SF or TK. Because i think only this kind of decision would make KOF took off and make a big buzz in the scene.
