I agree wholeheartedly, Jeremy Irons' performance was sheer perfection. I saw the live action film and Scar wasn't nearly as malevolent as Jeremy Irons' Scar was. The film couldn't match the animated version because Scar wasn't scary enough.
@DGraham9721
@DGraham9721 Жыл бұрын
@@donnabreedlove6862 I never saw the live action... I heard the song "Be Prepared" on youtube and boy, was I disappointed in it. It lacked power, and to me, felt emotionally lacking. It felt forced and for lack of a better word...a joke. Now I am not trying to belittle the voice actor...It just didn't sound right for the feel of the scene.... The scene called for a more serious tone, but what was given was a yelling...venting tone... a complaining tone. It was a complete turn off for me. Music for me is very important. If I don't enjoy the soundtrack of a movie, typically I don't end up liking the movie too much. So this song really killed the movie in a way for me that I ended up not watching it. I did not expect the "Live Action" to be exactly the same as the original.... I knew there was going to be some deviation. But they should have brought Jeremy Irons back as Scar like they did for James Earl Jones for Mufasa. Jeremy Irons' voice was perfect for Scar... just like James Earl Jones' voice was for Mufasa. It made me real sad that they just replaced him like that.... it just did not sit right with me.... Sorry for this long rant of sorts 😂

@Syria Same thing, girl. But for me, when I think of JAT, I always think of Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank video games and his voice interpretation of Obi-wan Kenobi from the Clone Wars. Interestingly, for both of these characters that he voice, Ratchet and Clank was the video game that I grew up playing as a kid, while Obi-wan was a part of my childhood bc I grew up watching Star Wars. Not just the movies but also the 2008 animated show that ties into the movies, specifically the prequel saga.

I feel I can name dozens of examples that were not mentioned on the list. In most of the animated films and series I enjoy, the voice acting usually had to be top-notch in order to feel the plight of the characters. The short list would include Dante Basco for his ability to deliver on both the highs and lows of being a teenager. Ron Perlman for using his voice alone to convey cruelty and sadism in most of his characters. Jason Marsden for being able to flip between heroes and villains while still sounding believable as either.

And here comes the usual Mojo BS. 🙄 Everybody knows who Rocket’s voice actor is, and everybody not only appreciates Bradley Cooper’s work as Rocket….they *love* him. And the same goes even more for Jeremy Irons’ performance as Scar - one of the most iconic ever.

So glad to FINALLY see Forte getting some acknowledgement! We always see the villain play the organ, but how often does the organ "play" the villain? Tim Curry is beautiful in this role as always, too.

As a kid I would watch Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas back to back no matter if it was christmas or not as it was my favourite movie as a child, and Forte always scared me. I'm now 21 and Forte STILL scares me. Could it be because its a 2d movie with a 3d animated Pipe Organ? The voice Tim Curry's gives Forte? Forte's lifeless black eyes? idk what it is, but Forte is terrifying and no one can tell me otherwise

Even though not every voice actors performances as characters are incredible that's actually to be expected because you know depending on the character whether it's a main or secondary the VA's performances don't always give the character thw recognition that they deserve.

Be Prepared wasn't solely Jeremy Irons' voice because his gave out after a point and another voice actor took over the rest of the vocal but Scar as a whole was fantastic. Also Atlantis doesn't get the recognition it truly deserves. Completely underrated!

My picks: Rob Paulsen as Stanley Ipkiss/The Mask (The Mask Animated Series) - Hard to believe Paulsen filled in the shoes (or The Mask) of Jim Carrey while portraying him even longer than he did... Ashly Burch as Molly McGee (The Ghost and Molly McGee) - When it comes to cheerful Disney Animated Protagonists, we may have plenty, but Burch's portrayal of Molly goes the quickest under the radar... Brad Garrett as Phil (Toonsylvania) - The "Everybody Loves Raymond" star actually voiced a lovable Dreamworks lummox long before Shrek was even a thought!
