Before 2000 but I'll never forget when and where I was the first time I heard "forgot about Dre" the first song Eminem was featured on mainstream radio and it changed my life. I had sung my whole life till then (junior in high school) been in select choirs and performance groups and always had been into music but that put it on a whole different creative level. It was the first time I ever remember hearing something and thinking to myself I've NEVER heard anything like this before. From then on I opened my mind and ears to genre's of music I had shut out in the past and really took the time to learn and explore all types of music.
@bren48713 жыл бұрын
I mean I've always been more of a fan of older music but I never realized just how good early 2000s music was (kinda goes off a cliff at 05 though). Every song slaps through those first few years. Up there with like the mid-late 80s, or late 60s in terms of quality. Hope we can get into another golden era like that sometime soon.
@cranberryrosebud2 жыл бұрын
I love late 60s music, not really like there are artists or songs I regularly listen to, but whenever a late 60s/early 70s song comes on, it immediately makes me happy, and I agree that early 2000s and mid 80s came closest to catching that same feeling (there are also 50s songs here and there that make me feel the same). This opinion is probably unpopular, but I feel like there was a dip in quality around the late 2010s, and it has gotten a little better since, so maybe it'll reach a peak again in a few years.

16:50 Crawling- linkinpark was the first English spoken song that got me into Western music, I was about 5-6 years old when I listen to it. My sister was playing it on the kitchen when I'm trying to mimic Chester's singing while I'm under the table 🤣🤣 (she told me years later when the memories reach out)

I won't say if popular music was better or worse in the 2000s, I'm personally a bigger fan of that time. But I will say music did seem a lot more varied. As in the things that got popular were a lot more different kinds of music than you'd find being successful today. Did you do a 2010-2020?

Video content ideas-: 1. Ranking songs named on food items ( the ketchup song, ice-cream, kiwi, cherry, candy shop, sugar, champagne problems, etc) 2. ranking songs named on diseases or injuries or accidents or disasters etc( I'm not sure if we have got it in a number sufficient for making a video upon it)(like heart attack, Stockholm syndrome etc kinda). 3. or, you can guess a song along side a competitor by playing it on reverse and then gradually make it harder by increasing the speed on reverse by a certain percentage and every time you guess it wrong, idk put some punishment there.(I am not quite sure if it's gonna be a bit complicated to play). 4.The name place Animal thing game.( U can add categories like emotions, Time/numbers etc) You can divide your white board in these four categories and then rank and decided which category has the best songs:-). Like in name category-: songs named after names.( Olivia, bloody Mary,etc) In place category-: Carolina ,cornelia street,etc. Animal category-: animals, who let the dogs out roar etc. Thing category-: umbrella, chandelier, maps, cardigan, etc. Emotions category-: emotions, lonely, alone, happy etc. Time/number category-: a thousand years, a thousand miles, 18, 22, 7 rings, A.M. etc. 5.Guess the song by describing the music video to the other person. 7. Famous artists who are good songwriters but bad/average vocalists vs famous artists who are good vocalists but bad/average songwriters. 6. Singers when they write a song for themselves vs when they write thr song for other artists. And as you used to be a drummer; these topics might just interest you; 1. Most viewed drumming videos on KZbin. 2. Singers who can drum vs drummers who can sing. Hope you like these ideas Rami.

It's interesting how marketing strategies back in the 2000's affected our access to music. The songs Joel doesn't know are exactly the ones I don't know. We're practically the same age and I'm South American. Except for the Ashanti song, cause they played the rap part, wtf, all the other ones never played here. Janet Jackson, for example, never existed here in Brazil. Never played on radio stations, it was never easy to find CDs... I'm thankful for streaming apps of today.
