The first Claremont/Lee omnibus ends immediately before "X-Tinction Agenda", the second volume picks up immediately after, and there's an OHC of "X-Tinction Agenda" itself. What's wrong with that? It's not like you need to switch back and forth between volumes to get the right reading order. Like, I could understand people being annoyed if they left _War of the Realms_ out of the Aaron _Thor_ omnibuses, because it occurs *during* the second volume and interweaves with the main series -- there's no way to map it cleanly in separate volumes (plus, the only oversized edition is ~80% irrelevant tie-ins). But leaving _Secret Wars_ out of the second Hickman _Avengers_ omnibus is totally fine -- it's available in OHC already and you read all of _Avengers_ before reading any of _Secret Wars_ anyway. I feel like some people are just obsessed with having every issue in one volume, no matter how unreadably thick it ends up, and I do not get it.

@@mfolwell "Unreadably thick" Lol no. It was only around 700 pages. They could easily includes the 5 or so issues and it wouldn't have been "unreadably thick". Also, the hard cover hasn't been available for years and it's annoying switching between omnis to a paperback to get the full story. They seperated the story to nickle and dime the fan base. Nothing else.

Mike Carey's X-Men needs an omni! Glad to see it at number 2. It was coming out during a hectic time in my life and picking it up played a part in some of the better memories of that time. Those books would definitely have an important place on my shelves. Since it does feature the issues with Providence and Hecatomb, maybe include Cable & Deadpool issues 40-42? Those issues tied into the X-Men issues going on and would help it feel more complete.

I hope Marvel is watching this video... Omar, you just introduced new stories lines that I did not know about, because I stopped collecting comics during those times. I would love to see these omnibuses in print. And I love how you mentioned that some of these storylines were hardly collected previously and in only a select formats. You are right! Great list! I would add X-Men (1991) #24 to the Gambit Rogue Omni. The cover to that one is classic 90s X-Men! Mutant X, Gambit, and Exiles were 3 of my favs from the 1998-2004 era of X-Men.

I really want the magneto war/onslaught aftermath in an omnibus. The TPBs for that era are super OOP and would also be a gap filler. Basically finish putting omni's around the onslaught omnibus

The show you couldn’t remember was called “ Sliders”, Omar. It had great premise. The Mike Carey era of X-men was just great, he really showed what a capable leader Rouge is when she’s allowed to step up. Plus the relationship between Ice Man and mystique was very interesting

I don't know which omnibus it should fall under but I want the Psylocke mini-series by Chris Yost and Harvey Tolibao in an omnibus format. The art there deserves the omnibus treatment, if it hasn't been reprinted in that format yet. I think we can even have a Psylocke omnibus which includes her 1st appearances, joining the X-Men, her mini-series, Mystery in Madripoor, Fallen Angels, Hellions, etc.

Definitely agree with your number one, Road to Onslaught, and love me some Exiles. However, one that no one ever gives any love to is X-Man. Generation X would also be fun, but ONLY if they clean up those scans used in the Epic collection. Thanks Omar.

X-Men: The Lost Years Omnibus AKA 2.5 - So much yes! Some of us don't buy all of the "other" omnis and focus mainly on X-Men... This would be a great addition. Doesn't it seem like the early years of X-Men are pretty much "shut up and take my money" books? No? Exiles and Mutant X omnis - two of my most wanted omnis!!! Exiles was such and amazing series and really put Judd Winick on the map for me. I met him at a con when Barry Ween came out (funny book). Was blown away when Exiles hit the shelves. Mutant X was really what transformed Havok as the "little brother" to a leader standing on his own two feet for me. Great series, front to back. X-Men Legacy Omnis - Yeah, I really want to see the Mike Carey stuff hit omnibus format. These are at the TOP of my list... He's one of the best long-form writers around... Give him 75 issues or so and you'll feel like you were on a journey with every character and thank him for the ride.

I've only recently got more into comics and wanted to dive into the X-Men, but there's just a LOT lol. You might not be the target market but Squirrel Girl sells really well with the younger crowd, along with books like Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales, etc. It was kind a no-brainer to put that out really.

I agree that Squirrel Girl sells with the younger crowd, however, I find it hard to believe that the younger crowd would be all in for that in omnibus format, especially if they already owned the tpbs. Parents of any young person I know would NEVER buy their child an omnibus if they already had the stories in tpb. I could see a younger person buying the omnibus with their own money, but from my experience, they don’t even know or care what an omnibus is and would rather spend their money on other things.

@NMan40 I actually bought the omnibus specifically to read with my kids (ages 5, 7, and 9) because it was a book I knew that would be appropriate to do that with after theyd expressed interest in wanting to check out omnis in my collection that they're probably too young for. We made a whole event of it and spent the next couple of weeks reading through it together on the coffee table. We did have one of the digest-sized volumes that they picked up at the book fair, so it was an upgrade of sorts. I do recognize I'm the onomoly here in that, but for parents looking to connect with their kids via comics, I do hope there's more opportunities like this that come up; should a Moon Girl omni get announced I'm getting that for sure!

@@alwaysaninstigator Oh! More power to you, then! The situation your citing is a bit different, however. You bought the omnibus and only double dipped a tiny bit. I wonder if you would have bought the omnibus if you or the kids had a majority of the stories in tpb format? My contention here is that the younger people, in general, are not buying the Omni or even asking for it. I think it is cool that you bought it to enjoy with the kids, but I’m curious as to how well this book actually sold and if young people bought it or they had others gift it to them. It only came out 6 months ago so it is too soon to tell. I guess we will never really know since it didn’t sell out immediately and Marvel and most other publishers are very secretive about their numbers in terms of total books in a print run, how many sold, etc.

I love these videos. Fantasy omnis are fun to plan. 1. X-Force By Kyle And Yost. You and me are on the same page good sir. Awesome series. 2. Messiah Complex/Messiah War/Second Coming. 3. Uncanny By Matt Fraction. 4. Uncanny By Kieron Gillen. 5. Immortal X-Men By Kieron Gillen, 6. S.W.O.R.D./X-Men Red By Al Ewing. I would be tempted to get those X-Men Legacy omnis. Mutant X is # 1 for me! That was a great series and builds the Alex/Maddy story that is still going today. For the X-Men Lost years, if you're going to brand it as volume 2.5, I think you almost have to double dip and include Hidden Years. I know it was done at a different time but I think it would still fit in well.

100% with you with Captain Britain & MI:13 (glad to ser the Wisdom mini get some love as I have a real soft spot for it, despite its issues), and X-Force by Yost/Kyle - as someone only recently trying to get back into comics, when exploring X-Books of that era around the Messiah Trilogy (want that omni too!), X-force books are nearly impossible to get outside the Messiah War reprints. Got the first OHC in a lucky find, but I doubt im gonna get physical copies of the rest without an omni. An additional one I might like to see is a Decimation Omni. I imagine this may have crossover with other books, but its an important time, with several oneshots/minis and stuff going on, as well as s confusing reading order, but feels deserving. Particularly as I doubt bits likr the James Rhodes Sentinel miniseries have been collected in omni before, and everything of that era in tpb is way out of print.

Yes! This is the video I've been waiting for! I also knew what your number one was going to be before you said it and how much that pained you.😆 I agree with most of this list. Especially the Rogue and Gambit, X-Force, X-Men Legacy and Generation X omni's. My most wanted X-omni's though are a Fabian Nicieza omnibus and a Scott Lobdell omnibus. I started reading X-Men at the tail end of the Claremont/Lee run but was there for all of Lobdell and Nicieza. That was my childhood and I'd really love to have it all again in an omnibus format. If you could casually mention them to Mr. Gabriel in conversation one day, I would appreciate it!😜 Finally, the Jerry O'Connell tv show you were thinking of was called Sliders. I loved that show back in the day!

Yes to X-Men: the Lost Years (2.5) - (take my money now), and yes I think they should absolutely call it X-Men Omnibus Vol. 3. A precedent has already been set as this material was collected in Marvel Masterworks X-Men Volumes 7 and 8 (the last volumes of X-Men). This omnibus would collect all that in one volume. Don’t forget the Wolverine cameo in Hulk #182.

I might also include Fantastic Four #28, Fantastic Four Annual #3 and material from Tales of Suspense #49, Strange Tales #120, Journey into Mystery #109, since this was also included in the Children of the Atom Boxed Set, but skipped over entirely in the first omnibus. My wish is for omnis to fill the gap between the end of Claremont's UXM run and Age of Apocalypse. And to follow the mapping of the recent Epics. Apart from that, I'd like the Messiah trilogy. Not interested in the late 1990's era or the current era ( started with a lot of promise but has disintegrated following Hickman's departure ).

Exiles = sliders. The show on fox. It was a good show. One of my favorite episodes is they go to a world where everyone is playing online games controlling real world mechs. Destroying the world.

I've been wanting that X-Men Legacy stuff for a while just dont want a bunch of those little 6 issue trades , I think that is why fans don't collect it some times
