@agarotaestatueta28113 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I think the same thing. His acting is natural, it makes us try to unravel the lines and discover the characters during the film. It is not dramatic or exaggerated, for me, it is what you see in people's reactions in everyday life. And it's even better when the movie wants it and shows it. I think that being an actor "still in discovery" adds to the audience's experience.

Call Me by Your Name...the scene where he’s driving back with his mother after he calls her to come and get him. When he breaks down after she caresses his head...it hit me in the gut...I had never seen something so heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
@FEGIII-sm1gu3 жыл бұрын
YES! That was probably the single most authentic expression of emotion with no words I’ve ever seen. For me it was more because a similar thing occurred with my own mother and me, not entirely unrelated. I had a fight with my best friend in HS, and came home and joined my mother by the pool/outdoor fireplace. She said she could tell I was upset, implored me to talk but I couldn’t; turns out I was actually in love with my friend and couldn’t share any details because I would “out” myself. Without speaking, she moved next to me, took my hand and just held it. That triggered the waterworks, as i stared into the fire, just like the scene described AND the closing scene! CMBYN was a powerful movie for some of us gay boys.

@@lukapieri6777 "to understand art". Honey, I took three art classes, was raised by actors, have written several stories since I was 12, and directed a play, I may not be a genius but you could say I know a little something about art. 2nd, the abuse is very fucking clear. Elio is 17 and Oliver is 24, Elio is a child and Oliver is a grown man, and Oliver is the one who actively seeks Elio and convinces him that it's normal for an adult to have sex with a child. That is grooming. Also, Oliver has absolutely no respect for Elio's privacy, and gets upset when he doesn't tell him his every thought and that is very toxic, also Oliver is very manipulative. This is abuse, I know cause it happened to me when I was 16 with a guy I didn't know was 19. So please go ahead tell me I don't know what I'm talking about cause trust me, I know quite a bit.

The best actor of his generation in Hollywood under the age of 30. As good as a lot of other actors are in His age range, I don't think it's even close. He's far superior as an actor than any other young acting talent under 30 years old. He has an old school Hollywood charisma range and conviction in His style and emotions that are very rare to see from young actors in His age range or any age of most Hollywood actor's in todays times for that matter His ceiling and potential is so high as to where he can go as an actor.

How about the scene from CMBYN when Elio is confessing his feelings to Oliver in the Batlle of Piave monument? That scene is perfect and cute!

We don't talk enough about what a stellar job he did nailing a British accent for The King. So many actors who have come before him have failed and failed miserably.

right some actors sound so goofy trying to do different accents.. Timothée's was really natural

I'm sorry but he's got the fame he deserves. Well actually he deserves even more. The way he looks at people, the way I see him moving on my screen, his voice,... it just gets me. I can replay 5 times the same scene i don't get tired of how it makes me feel. Thank you for teaching me your great performances haha
