Sorry but I solved the others literally on the opening shot, was bored for 3 hours that felt like 30 & pissed of my gf by telling her how it was going to end with in seconds of the film starting. It was just unoriginal and boring. But I told someone the body did it in saw because I thought it would be the worst cliche and solved sixth sense 30-40 minutes in because I was bored and realized it was a remake of a better movie, dead and buried. I also drove a group of friends nuts at that horrible first mission impossible premier because at the end of the opening sequence it obviously meant only one person could’ve done it so I told them. If you bore me I solve the movie every time. I did it with memento before there was a trailer & told everyone it was a bad film school first semester cliche and I wasn’t wrong. inception as well which should’ve just been called memento 2. Shutter island was sort of the same thing. The best thing about inception was done 40 years prior w/ the trial. It also probably didn’t help with some of those that I’m a fan of Laura and some others so it just redoing that a bit for some of these.

It’s because that twist is incredibly dated and referenced if only a few times within the entertainment industry most notably in 50 First Dates and in an episode of Scrubs.

I love "Primal Fear", it was the first film I'd ever seen Edward Norton in, and I was blown away by his performance, and how his character played both the character and audience like fiddles.

Orphan doesn’t quite end on the twist though. Had they gone with the alternate ending then it would’ve ended on the twist that Esther/Leena survives to go on another rampage; since she dies in the theatrical version the twist of her true identity happens before the final fight

Wow missing a lot of movies, should have been a top twenty. Scream, Scary Movie, Black Swan, The Others, A League of Their Own and Empire Strikes Back both still had a little bit of movie left after their plot twists ( A League of Their Own the twist occurred during the sisters last conversation in the flashback).

Excellent list, especially loved the inclusion of Primal Fear and The Usual Suspects and Seven (despite BAD line reading of Brad Pitt). I read that Steven King actually enjoyed the ironic ending of The Mist very much, which veered away from the book. Psycho is appropriately considered to be one of the top 5 films of all time. That look on Norman Bates’s Face at the end was priceless

Seven is my favorite movie twist because everything that happened leading up to it’s ending was more than worth sitting through to get there and the payoff is so rewarding that even to this day Seven is arguably David Fincher’s best film ever and one of the greatest crime thrillers of all time! Not a fan of Psycho or Planet Of The Apes sorry.

@@rolandofgilead43 I’m not a fan of Hitchcock and those Apes movies. I tried watching them and couldn’t get into them whatsoever. Just like LOTR i sat through the three trilogy movies and didn’t like them at all. They’re just not my cup of tea.

People think these twists are dated and that everybody knows them, but the next generation of moviegoers can be introduced to these movies, and as long nobody spoils the endings for them, they can continue to surprise people for years to come. In my opinion, it wouldn't be that hard to keep the ending of these movies a secret because so many people know there's a plot twist. Anyone who's seen them should know to keep quiet about them for people who haven't

I never bought that ending. Luke isn’t black and James earl jones is Darth Vader. That pasty white guy is complete bs and was offense to me as kid because I liked JEJ. It’s a good moment on one level but asking me to believe Vader isn’t black I can never do.

“The Others” was the biggest shock of a plot twist I ever experienced in my life. I also really enjoyed “Primal Fear”. “The Sixth Sense” had a great plot twist as well but that one was spoiled for me before I watched the movie for the first time.

Two I'd nominate for Honorable Mentions are "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (2004) and "Deja Vu" (2006). Seems as though nearly anything involving time travel can lend itself to some good plot twists.
