Thank you for all these very good ideas. I'm adding them to my very long and getting longer list of things to bring onboard. The editing of your videos is downright great. I love the rapid-fire, no nonsense, to the point delivery. If I have extra interest in something, I replay the segment. Also, I love your boat's layout.

Hey Walt, My apologies, we are on land in the boatyard at the moment doing repairs with limited internet... Its taken me this last hours just to post this lol!!! I bought it on amazon, the lifeproof cases were so expensive and this was only about $30-$40. It all clips together really well, there is this small rubber seal which is obviously needed to be 100% waterproof but it made it hard to unclip and clip all the time, so I took it out and its still very waterproof/resistant (I assume just not submergible for a long period of time). but definitely worth the money! I would rather buy 6 of these than 1 expensive case! amzn.to/38cDLPh = Ipad Case 9.7" (5th & 6th Gen - 2017/2018)

Nice! Will get those shoes for me and Bi. Also, quite impressed by your reversing skills. Artemis has this epic prop wander, pulls to port heavily. To yellow to put speed in for the rudder to take effect...how did you learn this?
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 4 жыл бұрын
Mikael Reichel thanks 😊, we have bad prop wash also but I just point the nose 45 degrees to where I want to end up by the time I can steer. That initial turn between the pontoons was all rudder, no steerage. I have some guys called “Pro Sailing” in Malta to thank for teaching me that! Lol 😁

Do you connect your IPad up to your sensors - wind, depth etc? If so how? Wondering if I can replace my old navigation system with one centered around an IPad or Android Tablet.
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 4 жыл бұрын
We don’t actually, it would be nice. We use it for our main navigation as it’s new and updated easily and regularly. The iPad does give us an exact speed every second from the gps in the iPad which is great but our main chart plotter is also always turned on showing a speed and wind also and we keep that one zoomed out so we are always looking at 2 charts.
@mikaelreichel3759
@mikaelreichel3759 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, going to try that one and aim for something cheap. You then gave enough power in a burst to have rudder action?
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 4 жыл бұрын
Mikael Reichel yep! I pull up out of gear slowly drifting to a stop turning 45degrees and while almost stopped (depending on wind etc) at about .5 of a knot, thrust it in reverse to stop completely and start moving backwards to 1.5 - 1.9 knots. By the time I hit 1.9 knots I’m heading straight down the middle of the pontoons with full steerage 😀
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 4 жыл бұрын
I see people go in forwards and just pivot reversing right out front of their slip, but I guess you really have to know your boat and be really good at it, but I would rather be completely stress free having full control before entering being surrounded by millions of dollars worth of boats!!! 😂😂😂

Good Morning, at least it is for me. 😊🙋‍♂️☕ I'm curious about the laptop charger. How long long have you had it on the boat?
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 4 жыл бұрын
Mike Barron Hi Mike, that’s my newest item, we had it for about 1 month now. Because we are editing videos all the time it’s probably used 2-3 times a day. The laptop pulls about 6-8amps the inverter uses 2-3amp. So for about 2-3 hours per day we save on running the inverter so it really helps because some days we have even forgot to turn the inverter off which just adds to draining the batteries. No need to worry anymore with this little gadget though. I would have got the 60w version but was sold out when I went to order, so bought this one 87w one instead.
@mikebarron5805
@mikebarron5805 4 жыл бұрын
@@SailingSunday Thanks for the response. I'm interested in a charger like the one you have for use in my boat and was checking to see how well it was standing up to the task. My yacht these days is a 15 foot aluminum canoe that I use for up to 2 week trips on rivers. 😎 So not up to your level but then you haven't swamped your boat in white water, yet. 😉 😁 FYI, asking a teenage granddaughter to leave her phone and tablet at home is worse than telling them to SSSSSH!!! 😲😳😂 🙋‍♂️
@SailingSunday
@SailingSunday 4 жыл бұрын
Mike Barron haha, yes I can imagine, electronics run our lives now especially teenagers!!! 😂 Oh jeez, no hopefully we won’t do that anytime soon! It works really well, the 12v plug will eventually rust out (they always do) there’s no way around that living at sea. I’ll just have to cut it off and attach a new 12v plug at some point. The box itself is pretty sealed up and appears to be glued together quite sturdy so no complaints there. It has a USB plug too so we usually charge the MacBook and GoPro or phone at the same time and still works well.

@@SailingSunday Hey Guys! New subscriber here. Looking forward to more videos as useful as this one, wow! I'm setting up my newly acquired boat for New England sailing this summer and have the same question regarding the iPad case. Look forward to the link when you can provide it. Very Useful indeed! I have an iPad generation 8 on the way and have been on the phone with Ram Mounts more than once talking about their various mounts vs. cases and so forth. Decided maybe the best approach is to get a case in hand then get the correct Ram Mount. Thanks!

Peter Staples $140! Damn, is it the Shipping thats a rip? I think it cost me about $110aud shipped to Greece by memory. But they were about $150 in the yacht shops over here and thats was the smaller one!!!! I did all the prices in USD as we order everything online in USD. I’m not sure about the shoes, we literally but all our stuff online. I’m a us10 so fit a 9 because I wear them without socks and they fit fine.
