Y'all gotta stop. Mackinnon has already reached his peak McDavid hasn't yet and he's STILL better. Remember Mackinnon just got good a few years ago McDavid has been a force since day one. If you were drafting you know you're taking 18 year old McDavid over 18 year old Mackinnon no question

@@mr.devil9577 Mackinnon is 4th all time in Playoff points per game notably behind Gretzky and Lemieux. There is a very legitimate case for him being the best in the world. And is still only getting better. Playoffs are all that matters. Once McDavid does something close to Mackinnon when it counts... then he can have the #1 spot back.

McDavid has 18 points in 17 career playoff games. Still a pretty good pace. I think McDavid is a better goal scorer, but Mackinnon is a better overall player in my opinion. Both are very exciting to watch. At least one of them will raise the cup.

The most complete all around player in the league. Some people may be SLIGHTLY better scorers, but no one is the whole package like MacKinnon is.

What I love about him the most, is that after 100 points (Yeah we all know :/ :D ) in Regular Season, he turns himself into an even bigger monster and delivers THE ABSOLUTE BEST OF HIM in Play Offs. ... LOVE HIM!

As a former tendy who played in college and now as a goalie coach, it's hard not to appreciate how good Mack truly is... that clapper past Elvis at #8 no goalie has any chance at stopping that with that kind of release, his goal against Khudobin was placed right past his ear (I've had numerous pro coaches growing up who would always emphasize how its impossible for a goalie to stop a shot whizzing past their ear, just like that), and the deception with his hand placement and overall release against Vancouver at #3... it's all very subtle but these tactics are what makes him great. He makes it all look effortless, but young players can learn from just noticing these minor details in terms of his release, shot accuracy and hand placement and working on these things themselves

No one underrates Nathan Mackinnon, everybody who really knows hockey thinks he is a top 5 or top 3 talent in the NHL, the only reason he didn't win (when he should've) was because of how many points Draisaitl got on the season. I think as long as Mcdavid has Draisaitl on the same team and as long as Draisaitl has Mcdavid on the same team Mcdavid and Draisaitl will be the best two players in the NHL, next season however because I rank based on regular season and go on what happened that paticular season instead of looking at what happened before Mackinnon could be the best or top 2, but who knows.

Mackinnon is so good, but that was a pretty lack lustre top 10. A couple of them we’re just dekes he didn’t even score on and the others were PP one timers. Draisital had about 15 of those same exact goals this year..

when you look at the minor details, it's hardly lackluster... his edgework on #10 to get to the crease, his release against Elvis at #8 (or his release on basically every one of his goals), his shot placement against Khudobin on the one timer (right past his ear, impossible to stop) overall stick handling on basically every play, awareness on the spin-o-rama goal, deception in his hand placement on goals #3 and #1, the move to kick the puck off his skate to stay onside and manage to go far side on Crawford (a 6'3" goalie who was well on top of his crease).. it's all very subtle but it is what differentiates the good from great players...he clearly thinks the game on a completely different level, which is why he will be a perennial 40g/100pt player for the foreseeable future
