Hey man, love your channel. Our musical tastes are a little different but still cool to hear about new bands. Wraith was amazing, glad you let us know about them. One band I think you should also check out is Plague Years. They’re relatively new, I think the first album was 2018.

Hellripper and Wraith are in my favorite new bands list as well. Love that blend of black, speed, and thrash metal! I've also been really digging Killing with their 2021 debut album Face the Madness.

Once again, you give me more music to listen to. Thanks for doing this Bryce; so important for us metalheads to know about these bands! Sick of people saying there's no good music anymore; there is, they just don't care to look for it! It's crucial that fans support these bands and keep metal alive so that young people like you and me can enjoy new metal in the future. Some of my favourites (some of them formed a little bit before 2017 I'm afraid) are Zig Zags (Motorhead and Black Sabbath in a blender), Iron Lamb (heavy Motorhead influence), Knife (black n roll but a little harsher), Havok, Vulture, Magic Circle (brilliant Sabbath-esque band) , Black Leather (BRILLIANT band, cross between Motorhead and black n roll), Midas (majestic traditional heavy metal), Acid Mammoth (ultra-heavy doom. These guys love Master of Reality), Bullet (AC/DC + Judas Priest), Skull Fist, Tau Cross (formed by Rob Miller of Amebix, a band that was instrumental in influencing black metal), and Asomvel (Motorhead reincarnated).

Check out Bastet, Hellsmoke, Traitors Gate, Gorebag, Warbreath, Carro Bomba, and Savage Master. I grew up when it all began in the late 60’s. Also a well knowledgeable in the metal world

Love that Traveler t-shirt, Bryce. That’s a great band. I’ve been a metal fan for 25 years and I never understood those people complaining there aren’t good new bands anymore. The truth is the opposite: there are a lot of great bands out there, and it’s actually difficult to keep up with them.

Riot City & Traveler would definitely be in my top 5 as well, also Mystik from Sweden (Heavy Metal/ Speed), Sijjin from Germany (Death Metal), Hadopelagyal also from Germany (Black Metal), Century from Sweden (Hard Rock), & Bygone (Hard Rock). The 2 last bands have not yet released an album yet, but I still think they’re worth mentioning. You can check out their demos on KZbin or Bandcamp.

Solid picks Bryce. Also a nice range between Trad, Thrash and Black. So many great newer bands around it annoys the shit out of me when people flat out deny that anything good in Metal is coming out these days. Sure a lot of them haven't forged their own total original sound yet but the songwriting, heart, musicianship and potential is there in spades. I'd also suggest STALKER, MIDNIGHT DICE, SMOULDER, MORBIFIC, ANGEL SWORD and SABIRE. \m/

Awesome list just as I expected, Bryce, and pumped I've got 5 new bands to check out now. I agree Hellripper rules. Another good new band is I AM from Texas. They have three albums, their first full length was 2017's Life Through Torment, followed by Hard 2 Kill, and now their best one yet Eternal Steel with some great cover art as well. Very much in the Power Trip vein.

The Danish band Iotunn is well worth your time investment to check out. Their debut album Access All Worlds is a masterful concept album in the Prog/Prog Death/Metal sound. They are a VERY promising young Heavy Metal band who are going to go places. Metal Blade Records.

Wraith are excellent. I accidentally got two copies of their latest vinyl(hit me up if someone wants it). Enforced is also killer. Killgrid was one of the best albums last year. Traveler are also very cool. Hellripper is also really cool. I've got the Black Arts & Alchemy vinyl. #6, all female black metal?? I must check that out. You're giving me a couple of nice BM bands to check out, thanks for that. I've gotta think about some to offer you. The 2017 cutoff may be an issue, but I'm always looking into bandcamp, chatting with my buds in metal twitter and IG. I must have something for ya.

Very cool list! So many of these I've never heard of. Definitely gonna dig into Traveler! I'd used Wraith as my fantasy future band name for years in high school and beyond! I was a little too late getting that one off the ground before some group of square jawed, corn fed fellas from goddamn Indiana steal it out from under my nose... Totally not bitter or anything. Totally gonna give them more of a listen also! I gotta agree with Hellripper being #1. My favorite random discovery early in the pandemic year, just googling "Scottish Thrash Metal" led me to the venom spewing monster that is Coagulating Darkness! It's snarling and ferocious and I love every second of it.

Great list! Some of these bands I´ve got to check out for sure. Asagraum, Hulder and Hellripper fucking slays! If you haven´t heard of Wormwood, Night Crowned and Nordjevel, check them out ASAP! First two are melodic BM from Sweden and the third is killer BM from Norway. Dødsfall as an honorable mention. Also from Norway.
