The cap book The daredevil book And my top want for a decade now Uncanny x-force omnibus. This was one of the best x-men stories ever. Especially if you love dark assassins.

Great video featuring some of my top picks of the month, also. I must say, though, Marvel needs to do better by their fans. The "Batman & Robin Adventures" omnibus has an 800+ page count for a cover price of $75. While the Chip Zdarsky "Daredevil" has a 700+ page count with a retail price of $100. Marvel please do better by those that that have put you where you are. Namely, your fans.

I love this monthly series also! My favorite Star Wars legends Omni currently out is the old republic. Once the new republic comes out it might be tied for first tho! Empire Omni 1 is great but empire Omni 2 is really really not great. The uncanny x-force is GREAT stuff and worth checking out for sure Ben!

So many great books this month. The art in Tom King's Wonder Woman run is just breath-taking with Daniel Sampere. Have a few single issues from that run. I might just wait out for a hopeful omnibus in the future. Will be picking up Batman and Robin Adventures and DD by Zdarsky.

Totally agree about the art in Wonder Woman. It could be written by a 3 year old and the art would still make it an incredible title. And those are GREAT choices! Super excited to have Zdarskys DD in Omni format!

I’m trying not to spend too much money this year on comics, except for the crème de la crème. So I will be getting Daredevil by Chip, X-Force by Remender.

Nothing wrong with that! Saving money is WAY cooler than any comic book or collected edition. Those 2 are for sure the must buy if that title belongs to any of these books.

He wrote 307 to 443 and I believe he did Quazar after that. There's a comic he didn't do with in that time I believe 🤔. Also I say 3 omnis because this first one is a biggie. So going by this vol 1 size we would get 3 vols or so.

No. Everything you said in describing Cap by Gru is complete bollocks. NEVER heard such utter tosh. You haven't read much Cap, have you. Go read Engelhart. Go read Stern. Go read DeMatteis. Gruenwald is the last Cap you should read.

I would have to disagree. I Also feel the meat and potatoes of this comment or comments like it end up being that the commenter feels another run is better/superior or the run referenced is not as good as it’s described which all ends up being subjective which is just a little tit for tat if you ask me 🤷🏽‍♂️ During Gruenwald’s run you do have caps supporting cast fleshed out and focused on. characters like falcon, nomad and D-man have a decent focus during this run especially once Steve takes on the label of “the captain”. Thats not me saying his supporting cast isn’t focused on in any other run, thats me saying that this run gives them a level of charm that has fleshed and formed these characters to the ones we know and love substantially. That doesn’t mean those things don’t happen in other runs, it means I feel it happens in a better and more detailed way story wise here which is a subjective point and I apologize you disagree with that. During Gruenwalds run you have a major focus on lesser known villains due to the scourge but also the serpent society and eventually John Walker who borderline headlines the run in this Omni. Again are villains not featured in other runs? clearly they are since that’s how a comic book works but I feel this run again gives them a major focus and fleshes them out to an extreme level and forms them into the characters we know and love. This doesn’t apply to just the returning villains but also the smaller name villains like armadillo or frog-man who headline stories also but I do apologize that you disagree with my opinion on that. Bottom line is The tropes and cast of this cap run are not anything NEW. I feel that this is the run where these things are done best at least when referencing a modern reader which my audience tends to be. The captain america no more story line for example (cap questioning the mantle of Captain America due to the us government) has been done before this run AND after this run BUT I feel this run gives that story line and eventual character trait of cap questioning who he is a MAJOR focus and level of depth, to the point that dare I say this focus becomes the theme of the entire beginning of Gruenwalds run. So yes Clearly when these characters and stories first got “established” was when they were created or came to be of course! BUT in my opinion when referencing these things I don’t feel that who did it first did it better at least in this case. I stand by me saying this is THE run that any cap fan or eventual cap fan should read. but you are entitled to your own opinion of course and I respect that opinion no matter if I disagree or not 🤷🏽‍♂️ (Love the words “bollocks” and “tosh” haha I’ll have to work those into my vocab, Adds some flavor!)
