Agree with Mr. Sneyders: If the chain drive bikes in this video are targeted at the "sport touring" segment, why the chain drive?? Belt can't be any more expensive than chain and sprockets for the manufactuer, with A LOT less maintanence for the owner.

@@blizzride Here's a comparision, cost-wise (bikes noted picked at random): New belt for a Yamaha V-Star 1300 $428 from a discount parts house. Chain & sprockets for a Honda XR 650L $265 . Difference of $165. Of course the OEM's would not pay even close to this when sourcing these items. Drive belt pulleys will far out last chain drive sprockets. I for one would pay the difference for a belt drive over the hassle of maintaining a chain and sprocket set-up. The cost to a buyer for a belt-drive version would be , IMHO, add only a couple hundred( educated guess) to the MSRP. And, it would be a selling point for the belt-drive alternative.

Die Suzuki GSX S1000 Ein tolles Gerät... War zu einer Probefahrt... Beeindruckend... Geht echt ab....Im 6. Gang durch Ortschaften, selbst mit 40 beim Gasgeben kein Ruckeln..Schalten rauf bei Vollgas...und runter ohne Kuppeln möglich... Besser als bei der neuen BMW 1000 R... Bequeme Fahrhaltung mit diesem Lenker. Ein Traum....Bei der BMW angeblich lt. Videos Handgelenkprobleme., und Vibrationen....Bin am Überlegen ob ich diese oder dann die mit Verkleidung kaufe....als Sporttourer (GT). I had a Tracer from 2015, bad fueling and bad shocks. Did a lot of modifications with Hyperpro and had also ECU flashed. At the end replaced it with a 1200RS.
