Alice Cooper is very kind hearted. Several years ago, there was a news story about a man in Phoenix at risk of losing his house when lost his job. He painted his house into a giant Alice mural, trying to make it "unsellable." Alice caught wind of this and paid the man's mortgage in full. Very heartwarming.

In the 80's I was a police officer in a city that had a concert series every year. I worked backstage for two years during the series. I was surprised by how nice most of the musicians were to me and other people. There were some exceptions and to this day I don't listen to their music. One of the nicest musicians was Barbara Mandrell. We were not allowed to talk to the musicians unless they spoke to us first and definitely were not allowed to ask for an autograph or a picture (before there were cell phones or digital cameras). While Barbara Mandrell was onstage performing I was backstage guarding her room. A gentleman approached me and we engaged in small talk. At some point, I told him that my dad loved Barbara Mandrell's music and that he would be jealous if he knew I was at her concert. After the concert was over Barbara Mandrell signed autographs for nearly two hours. When she was done signing autographs she approached me and asked if I was the police officer whose father loved her music? I said I was. She had her photographer take a picture of her and me together and then she asked for my father's address. About two weeks later my father received a package in the mail that contained that picture and another of her with a message and autograph. A class act for sure.

Interesting short story. My mom went to a Bruce Springsteen concert in 1989, and Bob Seger was standing right next to her. When she noticed who he was, she talked with him for most of the concert and actually got an autograph from him. She said he was one of the nicest singers she ever met, but everyone else around them noticed who he was too and began to ask for autographs too. Afterwards my mom saw him when she was leaving the show and apologized, but he smiled and said no harm done.

There was this challenge where the had to ask there coworkers and colligues for money to create something I can't remember what it was. Cyndi couldn't do that. And trump was berating her hard for it. Her response was I don't have rich friends that i can go and just ask for 10k whenever i want to. So that to me showed me how down to earth and just humble she is for her fame and how she never forgot where she came from. How much she still cares about her friends she already had. Also shes a HUGE supporter of the LGBTQ+. She Co-founded the true colors tour in 2007 and 1 dollar from every ticket went to the human rights campaign. Devoted a concert in Matthew Shepards memory, a gay teen who was beaten, tortured and left to die, just because he was gay. And started true colors united in 2008 to help homeless LGBTQ+ teens, along with the true colors residence which gave them temporary shelter and job placement help. She is just an incredible person

I met Donny Osmond after seeing him in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and he was such a nice guy and just adored his fans those who had seen the show. Two weeks later I saw him going into the theater for the night's show and he was talking to fans and taking photos to the point where his crew had to remind him he had a show to put on. He was shaking hands and giving well wishes as the stage door closed.

Dave Grohl definitely deserved that #1 spot. Well done. Of all the musicians I've met, there's three that come to mind. Eric Singer is very cool and down to Earth; we walked through a casino for 20 minutes after an Alice Cooper show chatting about Black Sabbath and nickel slots. Lennon Murphy opened for Alice Cooper and spent a good chunk of the night hanging out with fans, including myself. Finally, the late Kevin Dubrow from Quiet Riot. I caught QR with Dokken and Slaughter in 2006, and Kevin not only chatted with a few of us during Dokken's set, but also told us how to get to the complimentary sandwich room for the band and told us to come eat with him. Class act.

this guy isn’t even remotely famous, but i got to meet Cody Canada 2x. both times were in Frisco, Colorado. truly one of the kindest, most down to earth, and outright caring musicians i have ever met. my dad and i actually ran into him in the bathroom immediately after his show, and he took the time to chat with every single guy in the bathroom before and after using the restroom 🤣 and then proceeded to take pictures with every fan that requested one. loving dude, and incredibly talented; hope he is doing well and succeeding 💯

A friend of mine used to live in Phoenix. Alice's restaurant sponsored her son's baseball team. She said at the end 9f every season Alice and his wife invited the team and their families to a cookout at his house and she said you could not ask to meet a more down to earth person. And while I'm not a Nirvana or Foo Fighters fan, I have heard countless stores of the kindness Dave has shown his fans. I am a 80s hairband girl and thrash fan and I have met just about every 80s metal band. I can attest to the fact that Jon Bonjovi is a very kind person. 99% of the musicians I have met have been some of the nicest people you will ever meet. But the late Ronnie Dio stood out in a group of truly kind guys. According to Tom Ayara from Slayer he would come of the bus every night and talk to fans until the last one left. He thanked every single person for coming out and was very down to earth.

You always kinda get the feeling with Dave Grohl that every now & again he wakes up and questions if he's dreaming, but is nice to everyone to keep the good vibes working for him - tell you what though, his bandmate Chris Shifflet is one of the nicest guys in music as well!

After a Weird Al concert here in Melbourne Florida at the King Center a bunch of us were hanging around the fence where the tour buses were parked hoping maybe Al would give us an autograph. A security guard came up and asked us to follow him. He led us to a side door and told us to remain single file and try to be quiet. He then took us inside and there in a break room/eating area was Al seated at a table with a chair next to him. He invited each person to come over, sit down and talk to them one on one. He gave autographs, took pictures, but was never “Here you go, next”. He took time with each person and this was after having just having performed a full set. The man is a treasure.

I'm a professional musician in the Phoenix area. George Benson lives here, comes out to hear live music frequently. Everyone has a photo with him. He's 100% down to earth and genuine. Very likeable. He's not a musician, but my band was contracted to do a promotional event for Crystal Head vodka a few years ago. Dan Aykroyd is a part-owner and he came up and sang a few songs with us. Totally cool guy, laid back, non-pretentious.

Miss George Michael. From everything I’ve heard he was super nice. Plus I’ve met Michael Feinstein many times. He is amazing. No matter how tired he is he always spends time with everyone after the show signing autographs, talking, taking pictures. Can’t say enough good things about him.

If you look at small or to medium-sized bands, most musicians are pretty kind people, if you don't treat them that like they own you anything just because you are a fan. I have a lot of bands interact with their fans and it is clear that they are really happy to see their fans, and wouldn't mind a small conversation if the timing is right and I have friends who have interviewed artists, had a drink with them and they all say the same: they are generally speaking kind people. That all said, if you bother an artist in their free time and keep bothering them, they likely will snap but who won't? So based on what I've seen and heard, most smaller artists are very nice people.

One band who deserves a mention is Living Colour. Ask anyone who's ever seen them, they've never hesitated to interact with their fans either before or after their shows. They're known to spend hours after shows talking with fans about anything. Yes, they're not known for millions of record sales, but they have done many benefits for charities through the years. They're one of those bands other musicians hold in high regard. If you do a part two, maybe consider them, as well! Keep up the good work!

I met the Grateful Dead once. My family and I were coming home from visiting family in France and had lay over in Ireland due to a gas strike. Some passengers got combined with other ones. When we got on the plane again the Grateful Dead were sitting across the aisle from us. They kept wanting to buy me wine and my mother would tell them I was not old enough (I was 17). They actually were quite nice guys and respectful to my mom. They were very cool on the plane.
