Hello, i'm from Mexico and i just want to say that the pyramid that you showed is not in Cholula, it is in Chichén Itzá (Mayan empire) in the Yucatan peninsula, which is now one of the new 7 wonders. The pyramid in Cholula (Toltec empire) was destroyed by the spaniards, and now it has a catholic church on the top; it is the largest pyramid known to exist in the world today, it stands 55 metres (180 ft) above the surrounding plain, and in its final form it measured 400 by 400 metres (1,300 by 1,300 ft).

Li LianJie, they are. Barbarians were conquered by the Romans, became Roman citizens, and didn't receive adequate attention for their trouble. The Barbarian's sacking Rome was the Barabrian way of dealing with taxation without representation. Or rather, they didn't like being ignored. They simply asked the Romans to be treated like they said they were being treated. The Romans treated them like they were beneath them, and they got sacked for their wrongfulness.

What about Cairo in Egypt? I've been there myself, and am surprised it didn't get a mention. What I found interesting about the city is the old mixed with the new and the fact that whole families live in very old cemeteries in the older parts of the city, you just have to look. From memory, the old cemetery is situated near a very large grand mosque

Cairo itself is surprisingly pretty new, built around 969 by the Fatimid. There were earlier cities but all built during the Islamic era of Egypt. Since then, much of Aleppo has been rebuilt, old historic marks are being recovered and new restaurants and parks are being opened. 2:18 the word Bible is from the Greek word Βιβλίο which means book. There are many cities/towns in the Mediterranean that have Greek names (Alexandria in Egypt, Petra in Jordan, Byblos in Lebanon)
@veronicagorosito187
@veronicagorosito187 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! And Βιβλίο also means ''mount'', as the city is settled on a mount. Also byblos because there was a lot of papyrus produced/cultivated and converted into quatterns (books of 8 pages), so the city symbolizes both things, the books made with papyrus and its fabrication. This info is from the wikipedia and it can be flawed anyway, but I think is accurate.

It still looks like that. Damascus has been pretty untouched by the war, as the war has been only at the edge of the city where the suburbs are. You wouldn't believe you were in a war zone (except when you go shopping, as you'll see crazy high war prices). And worth mentioning, the war ended in Aleppo almost exactly a year ago. And the war was only in the Eastern part, not all of Aleppo. The Western part was completely untouched. Only about 20% of Aleppo is destroyed. Since then, much of Aleppo has been rebuilt, old historic marks are being recovered and new restaurants and parks are being opened.
