Great video! Loved y'alls selection. They all look cool. I have added the uncatum and rosellum to my wishlist! Many cool ones out there. The angraecum distichum is another one with a neat structure. I would love to see a part 2. 😊

Ola, I really like those 'other' looking orchids and have several of them. Never saw this aerangis punctata before. Some time ago I bought a Psychopsis papilio with beautiful patterned leaves. As it got a bit sunburned I took it off the windowsill. No joke, the pattern vanished 👀 Even under artificial light it didn't come back and also not on new growths 🤔🤷♀Many regards!
@PetalsSepalsandSpines11 ай бұрын
our psychopsis almost made this first list, we have to add it to a sequel video. That is so weird, ours lost the pattern it came with until we put it under artificial lights, then it got even better!

Great video, enjoyed it a lot. I love the dendrobium @9:10 and the aerangis punctata, so unique and beautiful. Thanks for showing these beauties in your collection. I need to find the aerangis to get. Thanks for sharing and happy growing, and yes please to more videos like this!

Great choices, they are beautiful! Also, how about the Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' and the Phalenopsis Sogo Vivian! I have them and the foliage is amazing!
@PetalsSepalsandSpines11 ай бұрын
The Psychopsis was on the list, but got bumped out so they wouldn't all be mottled leaf orchids, but if we make another one of these videos is definetely there! Our sogo vivien is just plain green, unfortunately. It's also not a great bloomer, so we didn't really luck out with our particular individual.

The most beautiful Phalaenopsis I have is philippinensis. Its leaves are more vividly beautiful than schilleriana, plus it has those silver roots that look like snake skin. You would love it.
@PetalsSepalsandSpines11 ай бұрын
you're right, i just looked it up! i never noticed it very much in pictures because the flowers are similar to the schilleriana, but i might just be adding it to the wishlist!
@tomfurmby8811 ай бұрын
the angraecume leonis was blooming sized when you bought it. The reason it isn't blooming is because the roots have turned brown. You received a really good plant with lots of roots. This happened to my plant too. I know another grower who has gone through 5 of these in the past 9 years. It's always the same reason. These have very thin fragile roots. You need to keep the roots happy or the plant will never flower. Once you figure out how to keep the roots from declining your leonis will flower - it is flowering sized in theory.
@PetalsSepalsandSpines11 ай бұрын
Thank you for your input, it's good to know it's flowering size! That means we might get flowers soon, since the pot is full of new, healthy roots! Thank you for watching **

Congratulations on getting close to 1k!!!! Dendrobium rosellum, uncatum and leonis are so on my wishlist!!! And I spotted two of them 😏 My Angraecum leonis is working on two spikes right now. Last year it dropped its spike so hopefully, it will continue this year! Unfortunately, I killed the Epidendrum porpax piece you sent me. I don't know what the issue was. Same for the Coelogyne. It flowered and then it just died off. 😭
@PetalsSepalsandSpines11 ай бұрын
thank you! yeah, we unwillingly sabotaged you with those ones, i don't find them easy at all!

@@PetalsSepalsandSpines I've been eying other Coelogynes. Do you think they're difficult in general?

Are the flowers short lived on phal schilleriana? One person said theirs only lasted around 2 weeks which seem so short compared to all the phals I'm used to.
@PetalsSepalsandSpines11 ай бұрын
They usually last a few weeks for us, a month tops. We definetely have longer lasting species!
