Hi! Paula's Choice recently discontinued the Calm moisturizer (October 2022), and replaced it with a new moisturizer "Calm Rescue & Repair weightless moisturizer." I do not recommend the new product, as I have tried it out and it is very clumpy and difficult to spread. It does not leave the skin filling moisturized, and is rather drying.

What about the new Rescue and Repair Intensive Moisturizer (that I just bought but haven't used yet)? I've been using the Calm line for quite a while, and I'm trying to "recalculate" with these changes. Ugh!

I am 40 years old man, I had problems with my nose area, lots of tiny black spots, had dark spots on the cheeks; the skin felt rough and uneven. I have bought BHA Exfoliant, vitamin C, Niacinamide products recently. My skin from dull, dark in places and problematic in places, has transformed to bright and glowing. Quite few people at work even noticed and complemented me. I highly recommend it to people who use high street brands and do not see any difference. These products will transform your face.

@@FamilyMembersOnly I've been using quite a few Paula's Choice products for almost 20 years (Moisture Boost Cleanser, Resist Super Antioxidant Serum, Resist Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum, 10% AHA body moisturizer, sunscreen, and I have not noticed any changes in the quality of the products. The cleanser was the first product I fell in love with, and it's still the same as it was when I first tried it. I would have noticed if it had changed! I, personally, haven't noticed any watering down of products. They've all remained consistent. The prices have definitely gone up, but I have found the quality to still be there. I have used her products since the beginning of her company. Before watching your videos, her info and books were my main source for skincare information. Because of Paula, I have used SPF every single day (25 years ago!) as well as Retin-A. This was before using sunscreen was a common health habit. I felt like a bit of a freak at the time for being so obsessed with wearing it everyday. It was also almost impossible to find fragrance free products at the time (except for Clinique). Thanks for this great video. I recently switched to the 4% BHA Serum instead of the 2% toner.

I just wake up with dewy, happy skin when I use it, and I figure the retinol and whatever other ingredients good ol' Paula is throwing in there have to good for my skin. Just for fun, I looked at my order history on Amazonian and the PC website, and I counted 18 orders of this cream over the years! And any orders before 2015 on the PC website aren't showing exactly what was in the orders, so I'm sure there's a couple more Intensive Repair creams sprinkled in there that I can't see 😄

Dr. Dray Omg, after viewing this video I ordered the “Calm Restoring Moisturizer” for dry skin. Some background: I’m 67 with eczema and dermatitis flare ups. Five years ago we retired to a very humid area in Texas. Since then, I’ve struggled with flare ups on my face as well as other parts of my body. I’ve seen at least four dermatologists without much success with finding medication to control the dermatitis. Don’t want to get graphic with detailed description of my dermatitis but it’s bad. To make a long story short, the “Calm” moisturizer did not irritate my skin. I currently have a flare up between my brows but after using it for one day as a day/night cream I noticed that the area had improved. I’m very happy with this moisturizer and have order the “Calm’ kit on Paula’s Choice webpage. I’m hoping everything in the kit agrees with my skin. Thank you for all the information you provide especially when you address those products for those of us dealing with eczema/dermatitis.

I'm using the Paula's Choice Clear Ultra Lightweight Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 30. I did like the one from the Calm series, too, but the Clear one doesn't leave a white cast so I prefer that for summer.

I just want to say that people need to be CAREFUL with the BHA, specially if you have dry or sensitive skin. I bought it for me boyfriend and have tried it a little bit. I can tolerate it on my nose 1-3 days a week. But if I used this on my entire face it would burn off

Is it bad to wash your face with cleaner all the time ? Wash my face in the am when I wake up (full line up) Go to the gym before work (wash face again because all sweaty) (only cleanser) Take a shower after work (only cleanser) And lastly right before I go to sleep (full line up) *full line up meaning cleaner toner treatment moisturizer

I love Paula's choices...but I will say the cerave SA cream(or lotion) kept me from breaking out on my back all summer, as I do alot of yardwork, etc. They really have some amazing products....just wish the price point was a little less.

Love how informative to videos are! I often refer to your videos before purchasing products. One piece of information I wish was included in your videos is if a product is safe or not in relation to pregnancy and breast feeding. I find it time consuming going through dedicated pregnancy videos for skin care. What I would love to know off the bat with every product you review is if I can use it regardless of being pregnant or if I should avoid! Can you considering adding that tid bit to all of your product reviews? It would be soooo helpful! Keep up the great work!

Products cannot be tested for safety in pregnancy because experiments are not done on pregnant humans. Most information in this arena comes when evidence of danger is overwhelming based on reports after use.

Could you do a video talking about your favorite well-rounded products (meaning products that have multiple beneficial ingredients packed into one - like the PC advanced smoothing treatment you mention here!). I find it's hard to keep a simplified skincare routine while also trying to get as many beneficial ingredients as I can on my face (ceramides, peptides, fatty acids, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, AHAs, BHAs, azelaic acid, amino acids, polyglutamic acid, licorice extract, retinoids, SPF, etc. etc.!), and end up feeling like I need to use a ton of products to get everything. Or maybe talk about which ingredients do essentially the same thing, so no need to seek out both in your routine?

I would love if you would also include when you’d put these products on (what not to mix it with, if you can combine all of these or if it’s not advised to combine with another one that you’re using)

I use the Calm line for normal to dry skin; cleanser, spf 30 moisturizer, and regular moisturizer at night. But my absolute favorite is the spf! Leaves such a beautiful dewey finish on my skin.

I use the essential glow moisturizer every day. It really does make your skin glow! It’s really nice. Also the 2% BHA Body Spot Exfoliant is really good for slight bumpy skin or body acne. Leaves the skin super soft. Just in case anyone needs and alternative to the acne body spray.

Thanks for making this video. My family and I have been using Paula's Choice products for years. We really love it. Since you mentioned Azelaic Acid in this video and in previous videos, on the Finacea website it says that Azelaic Acid can cause hypopigmentation (white spots) on darker skin tones. I was wondering if you could address this topic in a future video. Have any studies been done on it's use on skin of color, especially long term studies? I would be using it long term for rosacea control. Thanks.

I love the Omega serum (more like a light lotion gel) especially if my face is over dry from over exfoliating. Paula’s Choice is the most underrated brand ever. Everything is magic on my skin. Not being dramatic either. Have you ever talked about Good Molecules? Especially the niacinamide toner.

Dr. Dray, I had absolutely the worst reaction with their hydroquinone unfortunately, but I suspect that the glycolic acid included was exacerbating the sensitivity. I could be intolerant to the ingredient too. That particular chemical exfoliator ( glycolic acid only )doesn’t seem to agree with me. I contacted Paula’s Choice directly & they did kindly reimburse me, however they also tried to tell me that hydroquinone isn’t known to cause irritation, which I found ridiculous & slightly condescending because it is known to be irritating to a lot of people. What are your thoughts on the other iteration with BHA? I tried buffering it , which seemed to be less irritating , but do you have any suggestions on how to use hydroquinone with eventual results but a more gentle effect. I’m a huge fan of her line & the research behind the brand too! Thanks for any input! Battling melasma with all the ingredients & knowledge I have at my disposal, but with careful application & research. Do you think a prescription version with added soothing ingredients may help or am I perhaps just not a candidate?

I use several PC products since weening off IS Clinical. There Resist Hydrating cleanser, Omega + Complex moisturizer, Clinical ultra-rich moisturizer, and 2% BHA, are all amazing products!! I just started using her 8% AHA gel as I'm trying to ween off my IS Clinical Active serum. I have a few other items on my shopping list. :) I don't think their prices are too outlandish, especially compared to IS clinical... lol. They have great sales and you can use your Rakuten for even more savings.

Thank you! Daily Wrinkle Defense worked well for me until I started using 1% retinol or tretinoin. The area below my mouth dries out and this sunscreen stuck to that area. I do also love the Extra Care Nongreasy spf 50. It's gentle enough that I can use it on my face including around my eyes, but not over their 20% niacinamide.

Other Paula's Choice I really like are the Daily Replenshing Body Cream. It's reminscent of Cerave's cream, only better. I use it as my facial moisturizer and find it to be a great value since you get a large tube, and it's an even better value when it's on sale. Very effective and has good aesthetics. I also like their Radiance Renewal Mask as a moisturizer. Their 1% retinol treatment is also fantastic. Also their clinical body butter is amazing. Especially on the hands and nails in the cold Canadian winters. I've yet to find anything like it elswhere.
