ORIGINAL STICKIED POST from April 1, 2022: Happy April 1st lads! Did ya get fooled today? I got it with the MGS3 HD ad (bastards released it 2 hours into April Fools Day!) Just to let ya know we're beavering hard at work -- Halloween Havoc will be finished in 1-2 weeks! I'm working on FIVE other big OSW videos at the mo (including a "Warrior Farewell" Nitro/Thunder ep afterwards!). See the most efficient way to work is if we have multiple people working on different things in the same time. But to do that myself & V1 have to get everything up to a standard where we can hand them off to an editor for it's first pass. Unfortunately that means the first finished video takes a wee bit longer, but the upside is we'll be more flush with vids down the line! Anyway with Mania this weekend I thought we'd give you a sneak peek of a bit from the H'Havoc episode -- Top 10 Best PPV sets! Check it and comment on ones we didn't mention! :) Love, Jay

In a shoot interview Nash said that it would be written in huge letters on the backstage whiteboard "DO NOT JUMP IN THE POOL" and that that basically ensured he and hall would end up jumping in the pool. I believe his exact quote was "you might as well have told us please jump in the pool"

Yeah, the sign was to tell all the other talent not to jump in the pool because that was Scott and Kevin's spot and they didn't want anyone spoiling their shit 😂 Then bischoff came up to hall before the show and said "you're going in" Hall asked him if he meant the pool and bischoff said "no, into rehab" 😂

In one of the Nash shoots he says the pool wasn't very deep and implied he hit his ass when he jumped in so I can believe that first story.

The set designs are partly why I have some nostalgia for WCW. Say what you will about the quality of their wrestling product (and there's quite a bit to say), they came up with some really cool entrance ramps.

I loved the Nitro set when they were at Disney World in the early days of the nWo. This was the night Nash turned Rey into a human lawn dart.

That was in 96 when WCW spent weeks at Disney MGM Studios around the time of the Olympics in Atlanta. So much of Turner's staff and equipment were being outsourced to work on the Olympics so they went to Disney MGM where they had broadcast facilities available on site. They really made the best of it too, those Nitro episodes were great.

Truly one of the things I want back more than anything is the different sets for PPVs. Legit was one of the exciting things about PPVs is seeing what the set would look like, the video games would be awesome cause you'd get to use all these different entrance ways. I don't even care about the LED stuff, like I prefer sets but if you can make a LED set Different then all the power to ya, Extreme Rules had giant X, TLC just had hanging tables ladders and chairs, but at least it was Something other than "Raw and Smackdown, but it's the Summerslam Logo now" I was even sad that Raw and Smackdown got unique sets again and it was forced to go back to the uniform Same thing but Blue now.

I always did like the first Nitro at the Mall of America. I know technically there's no set it's just a ring but it looked really cool you know. Like an Indy show with more of a budget lol

Man, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for the moment where they realized they fucked up or forgot the ECW title banner for Night of Champions and decided to just slap a few stickers onto a Cruiserweight title banner. For some of my favorite stages that didn't make it, the curved Summerslam set-up from 2004-2007 was always a favorite of mine. No Way Out always had great stages, especially 2005 with the barbed wire theme. And a mention to Unforgiven 2001, though less for the stage and more for the completely bizarre graphic of Austin's face they used as the center piece for the show.

I was front row for the first nitro at club la Vela March 97' if I member correctly. It was the best live wrestling tv show I have ever been too. That nitro cost for the show was $20 per ticket and included all you can drink and a bikini contest. I met Jericho, xpac, booker t, Stevie Ray, jumpin Jim powers, hall, Nash (who were judges of the bikini contest) we they opened the gate for the show. We were the first ones in and got right up front. If you watch the open. I am directly next to the blonde when the show opens and zooms in on her nitro fake tattoo...

The original raw is war 1997 to 1999 ..... Monday nitro 1995 to 1999...... WCW Saturday night..... The ECW arena...... WWF Armageddon 2000......... SummerSlam 1992 at Wembley stadium......... Any WCW bash at the beach 🏖️..... And of course Halloween Havoc ....... WWF in your house 🏠........ And a shout out to the old school Madison square garden of the 70s through the early eighties......... Amazing venue....... Those are the ones that jump out in my mind....... ❤

LED Screens was the worst thing to happen to wrestling production design. Mine are Backlash 2000-2003 with the blades/scythes Summerslam 2008 going Hollywood KotR 2000-2002 with the swords and later giant chair and mirrors Night of Champions with the belt banners like a coliseum Royal Rumble 2003-2006 Capital Punishment 2011 NWA/WCW Great American Bash with the giant flag/banner and the little screens Starrcade 96 to 98 Hog/Road Wild 96-1999 Bash at the Beach/Beach Blast Smackdown 2001 era.
