I love learning about Pre Code Horror and SciFi books. They are so quirky and fun. I’m in the same boat, there is too much Marvel to get, or I would be collecting these. I’ve watched so many hours of material about the PreCode era. Love this video!

Bill Gaines was so cool that he would actually send his artists away on a all expenses paid retreat (usually New Jersey)-just to get the juices flowing

I started years ago focusing on the EC line and then found that there were similar titles like Dark Mysteries, Haunted Thrills, Weird Chills, Etc. I still have some of my EC CGC graded comics. There are some that are affordable if you dont mind that they are in a mid-range condition. Funny that William Gaines who founded the EC horror titles did far better with Mad magazine which is still sold to this day.

Oh yeah. i don't mind low grades at all. Some of these are still crazy prices even at low grades though!! I'm hoping to get at least one sometime this year.

Love the Pre code horror. All reprint for me. Can't afford the old stuff. Even the reprint can be cost prohibitive. I've been into comics for about 55 years. Mostly superheroes western and SF only the past few years has the horror been in my sites.

All the prices on this video are from the Key Collector app. But please note that these books dont have frequent sales. So recording information for these isnt easy. And the app isnt a great at staying up to date with regular comics anyway. The best way to get prices is going to be looking at ebay sold listings. Lately ive been buying a lot of comics on instagram. Wherever you look, these arent easy to find though. So best of luck hunting!!
